Goals scored in the last minute when we are 5-0 and 3-0 down don't count in my book

And if we had signed a "tried and tested" striker who had 6 goals and 2 of them were in the last minute would you regard that in the same way?

CKR is not performing and has not done all season. He has a unmerited swagger, jumps into defenders instead of challenging for the ball, doesn't know offside, hangs to long onto the ball instead of playing the pass and starts to close down defenders then gives up 5 yrds from the ball (why bother).

Still, he has the hard shot must play every week.

How often does anyone compare whether a not a player has improved DURING a season?

Isn't it the norm to compare season-to season?

Somehow the phrase...
"he's much better this season than last" makes more sense than...
"He was much better this season than this"

I made a point ages ago that MM seems to have an inability to improve players. I have not changed this opinion.

High up on the South Downs.
He'd do better playing off a target man. Our corners and set pieces are now very poor which doesn't help.
Both he and Gatting are talented. The question is are the players getting enough out of training.

I agree, my point is, personally, as a player he's made no progress this season - he hasn't improved, I want to understand why that is.

What was he like at Bury Dwayne ? Did you see him last season ? what benchmark are you using ?

From Derby 8 months ago to QPR on Saturday.

Don't you think it is difficult to judge the players when the team is struggling as a whole?

More often than not, strikers perform much better if the midfield is performing. The midfield perform better if they are getting decent service and cover from the defence.

I went to the game on Saturday (first time since the Saints game!!), and it was clear to see that CKR has lost his concentration. He managed to get himself in plenty of good positions. He was fed a number of good passes, but he seemed too concerned with the approaching defenders and took his eye off the ball everytime. This lack of concentration lost him the ball everytime. It was so frustrating as I think he is a good player (i also rated him at the Derby game).

He's confident, he has a swagger, thats good. You want players who believe in themselves. 19 years old, first full season, will surely win goal of the season, fair play to him.
