CKR - Just hasn't improved this season

CKR is a player who for me has so much raw potential, he's skillful and has a belter of a shot on him but just has not made any progress this season. Yesterday highlighted this to me, once again, his first touch was terrible and he just could not play with a big centre back on his back, he never won the ball and was uncomfortable throughout with someone close to him, progress on the improvement of his positional play has been stagnant this season and he still has an unwarranted swagger.

Is this the fault of the coaching staff?
Can the player just not be taught?
Or is it a mixture of both?

thoughts

(sorry for the negativity, I know the bobblers don't like these kind of threads)

Are you going to go through the whole team this afternoon

I'm glad it's you that's starting these threads Dwayne instead of me

Couldn't agree more. Well, apart from the 'raw potential' bit. He a flash kiddie with a couple of deft touches on the ground, but he doesn't attack the ball on the ground, and his aerial efforts are an embarrassment to watch.

doesn't 'pose a physical threat' either - tho he gets booked more times than somebody who does.

I'm sorry you're one of those fools who believe that everything is rosy and the majority of players have performed up to the standard they are capable of this season. I'm sorry because you are deluded.

He should have been given more of a run in the team instead o McGhee chopping and changing his front two.

He does seem to have more of an attitude then LEON but somehow escape any criticim from the fans on here...

He dodges criticism beacuse he is was bought by a fan and he says the right things in interviews, personally, I tend to think that actions speak louder than words, so pull ya socks up CKR.

CKR is in his first full season as a a professional after making his only a hanndful of appearances for Bury who are two leagues below us! He is expected to lead the line with very little service from the midfield, he is not at fault for our league position.

I agree, my point is, personally, as a player he's made no progress this season - he hasn't improved, I want to understand why that is.

Shouldn't matter that a fan 'won' him.. I think the majority of people see him for what he is... and IMO that means he's someone who is trying extremely hard to be a success, has always done well when he's had a run in the team (not enough runs in the team though).. and FFS he's only 19!..

As for his career goal tally of 10 in 70 odd games. ie 1:7.... I'm not comparing them, but people might be suprised to know that Alan Shearer's record at Southampton at the same age was barely 1:6...

Give the guy a break and reap the glory when it does come.

My only complaint about CKR right now, considering the whole team is shit (except McShane),is that he should play to the whistle and do his complaints to the ref whilst chasing to get the ball back.

It seems we have players of great potential who seem to go BACKWARDS when they start playing for the first team, i.e Robinson.

Could this have something to do with the management and tactics? Im almost sure of it.

Kazim-Richards seems to have an attitude half the time and after seeing McGhee's handling of Knight I cannot help but think it will not be long before they fall out.

The boy clearly has potential but in our current situation potential is nowhere near good enough.
