1. Ok, let's deal with "the homophobic thing". I couldn't care less if opposition fans chant "Does your boyfriend know you're here?" and neither do most Albion fans. It's the football authorities that are making a big thing of it.

2. Poogate was the action of one individual idiot. It's funny, have a laugh etc but not much those that run the club could have done to prevent it happening.

3. PR and club image a disaster? I think every chairman up and down the land will respect and admire Tony Bloom for calling out Gus and his team so decisively, not to mention the majority of football fans who have to live in the real world.

a footballer will appear in court after fans claimed he made repeated homophobic gestures during a match.

Blackburn player colin kazim-richards, 26, has been summonsed to appear at brighton magistrates' court on august 22 to answer a charge under section 5 of the public order act.

The summons relates to an alleged gesture that kazim-richards made to the crowd when he was playing for blackburn rovers in a championship football match albion at the amex on february 12.

The turkey international was interviewed by officers from sussex police about the alleged incident earlier this year.

Not just saying this because I'm a Palace fan, but your PR and club image is a disaster at the moment. This whole homophobic thing is a real fiasco...Brighton is the gay capital of the world, therefore you will get stick for it (rightly or wrongly). After the poohgate incident, an actual Brighton fan from work joked that 'it wasn't the first time someone from Brighton got caught with his pants down'. It made everyone laugh and wasn't mean in an offensive manner to anyone. I just think your club is taking yourself and football way too seriously

Pains me to say this, but there is an element of truth in what you say.

Still, at least we ain't Palace, now that would be something to be ashamed of!

Just another classic example of the gays getting over offended at the slighest thing.

If someone came up to me in the street and shouted "you straight *******", could i ring the police?

Point of order: London or Manchester is the gay capital of the UK, Barcelona (Sitges) or Amsterdam is the gay capital in Europe, and San Francisco in the World. Brighton is just fabulous :safeway:

If I were to say, "I saw him do a shoving object up his rectum gesture to the WSL in this game," would that be classed as speculation?

Good. I hope he gets his cretinousness shoved down his throat in a small cell also occupied by "da Bootyman". Who's not called that because of his choice in footwear.
