Did three nights this week, would throughly recommend to NSCers who like to get about a bit.

Extremely reasonable for both food and drink (and cab wise) which almost bucks the trend in Europe now.

Visited the original Stadium of Light and hadn’t realised the stats of Eusebio‘s adult career, 745 games 733 goals, a true footballing legend.

And the oldest existing strip club in the world according to our Tuk Tuk guide 😂

Love Lisbon but haven't been in the last 8 years or so. I've heard it's much more expensive these days due to the influx of digital nomads.

It must have been extremely cheap 8 years ago then old boy, excellent value, clean streets, nice people.

You obviously didn't encounter the pickpockets on the main pedestrian street in Baixa.

There were a gang of them, with two girls blatantly walking right behind people, opening people's handbags and rucksacks etc. No police about of course.
At one point, they did it to us (me, wife and 15 year old son). I saw them, stopped walking, and gestured for them to walk on. They didn't know what to do, so we went on our way.

But that was a few years ago. Maybe they've been moved on now.

Quite a few tech startups, app developers and DJs and producers are now based there as well.

These are in most big European cities though.

You were doing sooo well until you uttered your last sentence!

But yes l love Lisbon too, plenty to see and do if only staying for a few nights. There are more statues in Lisbon than in any other European captal city. Not a lot of peiople know that. Come to think of it ,not a lot of people would want to know that.

Lisbon is the only place I'd rather live than here.
Being able to get to European class surf spots on the train and ferry.
Some of the best food and wine in the world.
Some of the best street art in the world.
(Now) craft beer available.
Lovely people.
Interesting architecture and culture.
Multiple football teams to watch.
Etc

Great for a City Break. Great train services too if you want to go to Estoril or Cascais.
Went to Lisbon on my own in the early 80’s and visited both those places which were lovely.

Downside to my visit mad taxi ride from airport to hotel where I was being thrown around in the back by the crazy driving, the place I stayed at being run by an alcoholic (English), hence being very liberal with noise levels etc …and the wild dogs baying at night.

I’d stress though it was a lovely place
