The obvious difference is, Alexis can put away a hattrick in the PL without many, if any, of his team mates being involved. Such is his quality. He earns the right to have hissy fits when subbed/losing.

I've watched Akpom put in some dreadful performances for Hull, but if Bruce allegedly wanted him back then maybe there's something about him.

How is it irrelevant. Their form after he joined was very poor. He got a few goals for them but, to be honest, if they'd not signed him and kept with the strikeforce that took them 11 points clear at the top, they may well have gone up by a greater margin than just goal difference.
