Yes, COG looked good when he came on. Very disappointed with CMS, as another poster has said, he had two or three lovely through balls to latch onto - a strikers meat and drink - and he fluffed them. Maybe a break will do him good. Would like to see COG start the next game, not sure about Baldock, just seems like a slightly shorter version of CMS - lots of running with no final product.

yep i thought he did ok last night - held up the ball well, some nice touches and didn't get shoved off the ball like Tex and CMS. and his first touch was a considerable improvement on cMS who once again showed he isn't up to it- despite being a nice guy blah blah etc

But if it is right...

Shame. I like O'Grady. He offers something different, and given a bit of a chance he would knock a few in.

If he is being shipped out, is this why Fenelon is back? So we will have CMS, Baldock, Colunga and Fenelon.

Thank God Dunk is scoring for fun.

I've heard some interesting bits about Hyypia's heightened involvement in player recruitment recently - really stamping his thoughts and views on targets. I'm pretty sure I posted a week or so ago that I'd also heard that Toko and COG were unlikely to have any future at the club too.

That PFA page is most odd given it lists a whole bunch of players who might have been transfer listed at one point up to 6 months ago but are , as of October, no longer transfer listed or have found other clubs than that stated in their "PFA profile".

Agreed but a) given that Hyppia has publicly stated his support for the player only days ago b) the transfer window is months away c) he played last week then, even if he's lost faith in the player/wants a replacement and has leaked out of the club then its most unlikely or downright incompetent to find that out first on a badly updated PFA listing page where most of the information about the other players is months out of date and/or wrong.

So have I got this right?

1 After the previous manager left, but before we had a replacement, we spent £500k on a striker.
2. We then appointed a new manager.
3. The new manager was allowed to say which players he wanted - and the new striker was not one of them.
4. So we're now trying to recoup some of the money by selling the striker after he's played 3 or 4 games.

I really want to be supportive of the club but...how can this be interpreted as anything other than a shambles? Or am I missing something?

Glad Sami is doing this. Great to have the infrastructure to draw on a wide pool of players, but Burke is not a manager and shouldn't be expected to decide which players would fit well in to the squad

Are you on the CMS payroll?

I thought COG did well last night, a solid 6/7 out of 10. CMS was utterly dire. Neither really looked like scoring, at least COG brought others into the game.

Maybe you should change you name to Craig's grandad.[/QUOTE

I am in the CMS will come good if given the service or played with Baldock camp. Think they will score 35+ between them.

Just remind me who was the last of our strikers to score a league goal.

Except...

1. We signed CoG after Hyypia had joined.
2. He might not be keen on CoG but has said many times in public that he is.
3. We're not trying to recoup our fee now ...we can't for starters. We wouldn't be able to sell him until January at the earliest.
4. I've seen the PFA page that "confirms" he's transfer listed. Except it doesn't as every other bit of information about every other player on that page is months out of date.

High up on the South Downs.
So is Sami happy with a lightweight player like Colunga?
What about Baldock who cost much more than O'Grady?
Serious problems with the club's recruitment system aren't there!

Like you, I don't have any real knowledge on the PFA's page, but it sounds badly maintained. However, I would think it likely that it lists players who are (or were) available to some degree or another and that would include those available for loan.

I'm not aware of any of our players appearing on the PFA site like this before and we clearly like to do all our business in the background, so I really can't see the club themselves publicising availability in this manner. It's not inconceivable that an agent could do this though, I guess, given the PFA works for the players and not clubs.
