I almost wish I hadn't bounced this thread. I hadn't intended it to develop into yet another debate about Hughton v Potter etc. I was merely glad that an excellent ex-manager who did so much for our club, and is the very epitome of a gentleman, had taken Ghana to Afcon.

Let's be happy for him and leave it at that eh?

I was there too, with all due respect, we weren't outclassed. Just out-shithoused.

It still happens now . . . . managers do homework and work out how to do a job.

I can/could but won't criticise CH, overall he did a great job. Better then Potter IMO. but those last 10 game he should have played it differently . . . . I'd have gone all out disco Stu . . . Played to win . . .. We would have survived, probably with the same amount of points, but with more hair!

There’s no respect about it :catfight::lolol:. I had nightmares about Mendez-Laing tearing us apart down our right.

We were so bad at that time that I recall Mods saying they were skipping the odd home game or two.

I don’t put Potter on a pedestal. It only came good after a very long grind, starting at the Emirates on 9 April 2022 up to Sept 2022. By judgement or luck at the Emirates he played a wonderful CM of Mwepu-Caicedo-Bissouma with MacA ahead of them. Until then 19 months of rarely winning at the Amex.

Ghana had a comfortable 3-1 win over Liberia this evening. Kudus was again the best player on the pitch - West Ham got a good one by the looks of it.

Ghana training camp has been moved from 31.12 to 02.01.

Also says kudus set to fly after the game against us and was going to miss the game until camp start date changed.

It wasn't changed for Kudus I don't think. It was more likely to have been changed to see what the injury situation on Thomas Partey was going to be and whether he was going to be available to include in the final squad

He’s called up Onana so it will be interesting to see how United sub goalie gets on for a month

My bad, just googled his nationality. I’m sure I read somewhere he was Ghanaian!
Find his birth certificate for me quick. I will see if I can get it over to Chris before he names his final squad. The current Ghana Goalkeepers ain't any great shakes

Per the locals on twitter he was going before our game.

There was an issue with the Partey injury. They thought he wouldn't be ready till the Quarter or Semi Final stages and as such Arsenal wouldn't release him as he is currently injured. However as Partey is now back in training in the last few days. Now Arsenal will probably release him to be assessed by Ghana Medical Team. So Ghana can now potentially include him in their squad. Depending obviously on the Medical Assessment. So I think this might have been why they pushed the Training Camp back a few days. They are also now gonna have their Training Camp in Ghana itself as opposed to travelling to South Africa for it

Yes but kudus was set to go earlier. Not now. Per local.
