At least we can add his name to the list of potential Spurs managers should Redknapp move on/get the boot, and he would rank above 'wor Gus' in the managerial experience stakes.

The bloke showed great dignity at all times, and was superbly loyal - and he is repayed like this. I hope he takes Ashley for as much money as he can.

This is more or less the same squad that went down meekly 2 years ago, and they are back in the prem, playing quite good football much of the time and look like being mid-table. What do they expect of him ?

I am utterly gobsmacked. We deserve to go down with behaviour like this. Really not sure what to say. What a way to run a football club...

Pardew!!! 5/4 favourite to get it... Ridiculous.
Not ideal. You could see deserved relegation of course, but Pardew isn't going to do us any favours. In fact, he normally likes our players so the first thing he'd do is put KLL into their first team.

I don't see it myself, but having just cast my eye around some Newcastle fans forums, Gustavo's name is being mentioned. But I really can't see it. Martin O'Neill for sure.

Also, as an addendum, the official line from the club is: "Club said Hughton lacked 'managerial experience'"

So I wouldn't say that Gus has a whole lot more first team management experience than Hughton, to be honest. Rest easy.

They just never learn do they?

At least their all-new Saviour won't be under too much pressure to bring them their God-given right to success. :lolol:

amazing decision, does Mike Ashley not like going to Newcastle or something. Ridiculous, promoted team 11th in league and smashed their local rivals all done on a limited budget.
