I saw Chris in a Cambridge Supermarket just 3 hours ago, so that didn't look good and was bit of surprise.
I however know that alot of our first team are on stupid money for our level of football, George Rolls offered players obscene 2 year contracts, which resulted in us having a playing budget of £1.17m last season we are in the aim to get that down to around £600,000. So my guess is he is one of the players on around £1,200 p/w but don't quote me on that.

Thats just it. None of us KNOW.
He might even have a couple of irons in the fire elsewhere as well. Contrary to popular belief, not every non-league player would fall over himself to join the Albion.

If he is this good, then what is holding things up? I can smell a another Johnny Dixon if he joins us.

Goodness. It took someone like John Terry about one month to sign a new contract - from £120k to £150k!

There is bound to be more quibbling at the lower end when every penny counts. He is going to have to relocate and it is clear that our valuations do not meet at the moment. Let's not get too worked up over this.

Eh? Surely if he is "this good" (whatever that is) then he may well have other clubs interested, and that could be what is holding things up.

Or maybe we just don't have a friggin' clue.

My take on it ? Forster has intimated that he's going to hang his boots up at the end of the season,to be offered a coaching job, and Gus (unlike a lot on here!) is doing some forward planning by getting his replacement onboard in plenty of time. The stumbling block therefore is obvious, the lad ain't going to feature as much as he would like. But if Gus tells him to sling his hook, he risks missing out on another Beckford type striker (who also stepped up to league football in his early/mid 20's. I thank you!

Forster has stated many times recently that he doesn't want to think about coaching yet, that he wants to play on for as long as possible/another 2 or 3 years.

Noone can answer that, Wizard. Noone has the foggiest what's going on. With the notable exception of mr Insider who isn't going to say anything anyway.

I presume something went tits up with the medical, because it was just that to sort out wasn't it? According to the site. Maybe they found a problem, like Man Utd did when originally trying to sign Van Nistelrooy.

I think it was reported at least on the Cambridge website that he was going to sign subject to medical and agreement of terms, and the argus confirmed that contract negotiations were still ongoing yesterday.

I don't think the medical has anything to do with it.
