I'd rather someone in by Millwall personally , we never know Holroyd might not be able to agree a contract with Norwich anyway but im still not happy at the whole situation.

It's not as if Holroyd was coming to be the main striker. Having someone in by Millwall is not a big priority, for me, because, by and large, Murray and Forster have been playing very well.

As BG said, I am sure GP has other irons in the fire, which he will pursue before Monday 5pm if Holroyd says no. Ultimately, we don't want to sign someone who would rather be elsewhere.

Hmm....now let me see - Norwich (certs for promotion) or Brighton (fighting relegation)....where would I go?

our doing a deal with Cambridge (leaked by them not us) woke up the competition and gave the lad a choice to make.

Fair enough

So far I've been really disappointed in the business we've done in this transfer window. Let's hope we don't come to regret it.

no problems with that, but he either WANTS to play for us or not. Leaving the club dangling by the string toward the final few days of the transfer window when we could be looking at other options is a bit twattish is it not?

What would be twattish is the club not having other irons in the fire the minute they went public with their interest. Having no other interests when you only make an offer with one week of the window would be crazy.

This is not to say Gus et al haven't been ploughing other furrows.

Gus doesnt like doing stuff in January, he has said this. He has been forced into action this time because he's inherited a squad he's not happy with. He's signed a couple of players, but none of their contracts extend beyond the summer. Carole technically could not be here next week.

January is a silly month with over-inflated prices, and probably wages too. This season is a write-off, presuming we're not going to be in a relegation fight by the end of the season, so he's just tying us over until the summer when he will do some 'proper' business.

No need to panic.

The fact that the window closes on Monday is immaterial in this case as he doesnt appear to be the man that is going to change our fortunes for this season. Does the loan window open a week later which means we could bring in a striker to challenge for a first team place rather than one on the bench.
