Hardly, I've always believed that it likely had an original source connection to the lab and have never been deemed a 'nutter'. I suspect this was the belief of many.

Obviously it was speculative thought though as no-one knew for sure what happened. And we're hardly likely to get the truth.

It was shot down and banned from being discussed.

Experts both side of the Atlantic called it a conspiracy theory.

Yet Farrar was a central figure behind two landmark documents published by influential science journals that played a key role in shutting down discussion of the lab leak hypothesis by branding it conspiracy theory. These statements, signed and promoted by leading figures in the scientific establishment, pushed an idea that the pandemic was a natural occurrence by arguing against the plausibility of “any type of laboratory-based scenario”. Critics say this “false narrative” set back understanding of the disease for more than a year.

The other thing about the China that doesn't add up but nobody seems to mention, covid was blatantly spreading in europe way before it was announced as a thing.

There's the French blood tests that proved it and I've heard anecdotal stories from ICU doctors who said they'd been dealing with a strange respiratory condition in 2019.

maybe doesnt get mentioned as its not corroborated with evidence? if reports of earlier spread of the virus are correct, and its as contagious and virulent as we know it is, then all the history of the spread in early 2020 would be false - there should have been far more around, more hospitalisation. it cant have spread around europe unnoticed, gone quiet a bit, then started spreading again.

I find it astonishing that folk didn't think it was in some way connected to the lab. It seemed the obvious place of origin.

A common distraction technique to try and muddy the waters and cause confusion within public opinion.

Whatever you did, just blame it on the other side. project your failings on to them.

At the very beginning one of the female Chinese scientists said that she was concerned that it was a leak from 'her' lab. The scientist like the doctor who raised concerns after treating many patients with an unknown illness were shutdown from talking about by house arrest/exclusion.

a single report of a possible case is not evidence, its a questionable data point. the article illustrates highlights it would need to be rife throughout the workforce around Charles De Gaulle. its either a false report, test shown something similar to covid-19 (ie another coronavirus), or contamination. or we revise all the other data about infection, wouldnt want to rule that out, but balance of probablities.

My approach to conspiracy theories is that if it sounds like a conspiracy theory then it is almost certainly complete horseshit. I believe that’s an approach that’s going to lead you to the correct answer 99.9% of the time.

The fact that this coronavirus first appeared in very close proximity to one of the world’s few labs to specialise in such coronaviruses, a lab that had been subject to previous safety and security concerns, never sounded to me like a conspiracy theory but a very plausible explanation. If I get food poisoning after eating a late night kebab from the takeaway round the corner with a 0 hygiene rating and that’s been closed down three times in the last year, it would be odd to pin the blame on the toast I had for breakfast, wouldn’t it?

It always struck me as a little odd that the so called experts were so quick to quash the idea of a leak. The evidence might be circumstantial, but it certainly seems more abundant and compelling than the notion that, oh…erm, maybe someone shagged a pangolin then sold it off as food.

Like most "conspiracies" they tend to turn out as complete cock up and the real conspiracy being attempts to cover up.

I'm completely comfortable living with the theory there was a possible **** up at a lab (which was working with international investment to protect the world from viruses like this) and Bill Gates and 5G have nothing to do with it. I've thought it since very early on. Far too big a coincidence in my opinion.

If it turns out to be the case, unfortunately this will be far too boring for the anti vax, one world government, micro chip in the brain wibble wibble nutjobs. Makes no difference to the way Governments acted against it.
