Far too many average players from abroad only interested in money. How about using the youth system? How many up and coming young players are being denied the chance to make it to the top because of cheap foreign imports who give nothing to the long term development of the game?

Totally agree, I think he’s class and would be a great signing for Chelsea - I’m surprised there’s not more competition from the other top 6. He was an absolute stand out in that shite Everton side of last season every time he played.
He’d be in my England squad and pushing for a start to be honest. Knowing Southgate I would imagine this move will cement his place!

Chelsea are certainly spending the money this window. If the deals that they after go through I saw that the money could climb to about £320ish million. Then add the contract lengths and wages/bonus etc it's a huge amount to try and get close to us.

He flogged the club on such generous terms it wouldn't surprise me if Abramovic pays it in order to keep some chance of a reconciliation with the UK on the back burner.

They will need to settle this before the new UEFA FFP rules come into force on 1 Jan 2023; have also queried on another thread how their stated intention of paying big bucks in Jan will be compatible with rules.

The EPL are trying to agree a new rule that player spend (fees, agents and wages) cannot exceed 70% of turnover, according to @El Pres. With difficulty.
Chelsea, Manure and Arsenal are each on colossal player spends, according to the media Arsenal are going for it yet again in January (after the very best players in Serie A). How does that work with zero CL income for many years now?
Seems like Boehly, Glazer and Kroenke are maximising their cheating, before UEFA and EPL take it up a further notch.
A sport/business with very few scruples.
They'll find ways.

It’s almost as if clubs playing by the financial rules eg Bayern, Dortmund, Spurs, Liverpool, Albion, Ajax should all throw in the towel. Allowing a complete wild west.
The Geordies would love that, they could get the financial cheating we know they’ll carry out over the next 5 years, out of the way now.
