He is a highly accomplished player but it makes me laugh that there is a conspiracy in the media never to criticise his mistakes. An OG and a nailed-on pen, I mean, come on, Sky commentators, admit he had a mixed game tonight, instead every mention is breathless adoration of a modern folk hero :smokin:

This is exactly it. I thought he was outstanding last season in particular, but he does have a tendency to make some dodgy fouls/handballs in the area. Noone would say he isnt more consistent than Rio Ferdinand for example, but whereas Ferdinand gets slated for every mistake, Terry seems to get away with it. People also seem to ignore his lack of pace and that he plays in a systaem that protects this, so with Chelsea its rarely exposed, but with England he's never quite the same.

I always support the English teams in Europe and after a few bevvys I will get passionate about it especially about a team with Lampard, Cole and Terry in it losing against some cheating Johnny foreigners.!

f***ing hell, you can't possibly STILL get kicks out of telling a bunch of people you don't know that you can go to Chelsea games when ever you like, live in South Kensington (is that right, somewhere posh anyway), earn lots of money blah blah f***ing blah. It MUST have lost its novelty value by now, surely?!

Blimey, everyone's got an axe to grind haven't they? I don't care what Chelsea have done in the past or what has happened to other teams against Chelsea. I was talking about this particular decision - which was shocking. It's interesting that everyone who says that it is a red card has an obvious anti-Chelsea sentiment.

It was harsh, certainly. I have absolutely zero sympathy for them, however - they've benefited from enough dodgy refereeing decisions in the Premiership.

From what I saw on the TV last night Chelsea were completely outplayed by a side that could have scored 6 and should have scored 4. Nobody could get near Ronaldinho and Messi was really creative and had the beating of anyone he was up against. Irrespective of Terry's penalty, there was also a crystal-clear penalty when Makelele (I think) handled a shot that was on target. Chelsea's big problem is that they don't have anyone (apart from Lampard) that can be relied upon to put away a chance when they need him to. Both Drogba and Crespo were offside far too often and when they had to sub Cole all their creativity went with him.

Oh, and the red card was as clear as you'll ever see. He didn't even get close to the ball and went well over the top and into Messi's knee. Bearing in mind what he'd been doing to Chelsea, I can't believe it wasn't deliberate.
