Since September 2022, for the first time since I started to take an interest in football many decades ago, I actually wish Chelsea FC nothing but failure. It doesn't feel comfortable but between the tax dodging oligarch and super rich yankee multi sport owning entrepreneur, that club has earned a higher level of my disgust.

But Chelsea surely weren't trying to buy them this month. this was the, "lets unsettle a player" tactic. It's the "if we can get them to put in a request or look visibly unhappy at Brighton, we could hoover them up in the summer" way of doing business
