I had to read this twice. I couldn't believe it.

Theres a report in todays Times where Bruce Buck (Chelsea chairman) refused to confirm or deny whether Avram Grant would be in charge next season or not. Off the back of that article, here is one of the replies from a Chelsea fan:

What does Bruce Buck and the other boardroom patsys at Chelsea FC really know about football? Obviously not much as they got rid of Mourinho and put Grant in charge, who bless him has no tactics. The real fans BTW sit in the bleachers and pay outrageous ticket prices every week to see the most expensive side in football make a dogs dinner out of the game. What does this guy expect the fans to do? Perhaps we should start applauding at our own misery. How can the team justify scraping by. Victories to Middlesborough, Man City and the other night to Fenerbahche were not very convincing to say the least. We will never win trophies with that style of football. Not his year or any...

Clearly management has gone back to the ol' Mourniho playbook as they are out of ideas. Pity Steve Clarke who after 30 years of service is considering leaving. That says alot about the current state of affairs.

Is it worth pointing out that Chelsea sit 2nd in the Premiership just three points off the leaders, and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League again ? Or are fans like this a lost cause.

"Applauding at our own misery"

Struth.

I can't think of anything more tedious than supporting Chelsea these days. Pre-Abramovich the team could never be relied on to beat anyone on a regular basis, the fans had real passion, and Stamford Bridge had an atmosphere. What have they got now? The only worse experience can be as a Rangers fan turning up at Ibrox to see your team take on part-timers like Gretna. How can they possibly get excited when the Gers score in games like that?

It is quite remarkable how detached from reality some clubs/fans can be.

The real fans BTW sit in the bleachers and pay outrageous ticket prices every week to see the most expensive side in football make a dogs dinner out of the game.

I would suggest a great deal of real fans have now been priced out.

I kind of feel sorry for the fans that have supported the club for years, watching them play mediocre football in the second division and knowing that the only cup they were in with a shout of wining was the Zenith Data Systems Cup.

I went to Chelsea a couple of years ago (won tkts in a comp)

In the club shop, fat woman in fur coat in queue with arms full of miscellaneous tat, turns to her hideous 10 year old child
"come on Harrison, you've got one of those, just choose one today and we can come in again next week"

It made my skin crawl, that football has come to this. Quite dreadful. Going to Chelsea is really just another shopping experience.

If I didn't hate them, I'd feel sorry for the old dunderhead Chelsea fans

I'm tempted to agree.

1. It stops Man United winning anything. Always enjoyable

2. I just cannot imagine the confusion it would leave their fans in. Avram in/out/not sure all over the shop.

3. It would be a frankly ludicrous situation whereby a club comes from behind to take the title, then wins the most treasured prize in European football whilst all along the way their fans are moaning it isn't good enough.

Hiney and Oaf were SCREAMING at the radio with me on the way back from Southend, when on 606 they read out this message from the girlfriend of a Chelsea fan:

'My fella has just rang me from the Bridge and he didn't sound very happy, even though they won. The football's just no good. In all, its a PRETTY DISPIRITING TIME to be a Chelsea fan'

Dispiriting? Try telling that to fans of luton, or Bournemouth, or Wrexham, or HARCHESTER.

Ridiculous, ignorant, deluded tossers.

Come off it, that sounds like Harty's phone in after an Albion win! You could just change it to say...

"Dave the Gaffer has just rung me from the Withdean and he didn't sound very happy, even though they won. The football's just no good. In all, its a PRETTY DISPIRITING TIME to be a Brighton fan!"

It was very similar comments from Brighton fans that got the sack for Albion's most successful manager in terms of league position.

What can you do if the whole of England is against. Keep on winning. That is what we are doing. I would always take a scrappy 2-0 against Fenerbahce than Arsenal's stylish 4-2 defeat.

Whats the point of playing well when you have nothing to show for it.

A 1-0 win is better than a 4-4 draw. Style or no style.

The First Cap Connect train home on Wednesday was heaving with Chelsea and Hammers fans (and their sprogs). It's a f**kin' joke. Supporting their local club. I've worked in London for 30 years and ...%#+ never saw a Chelsea fan until 2001. C~~ts
