Sliced cheese with ham. Pop it into the grill and let it melt but not cook. And you have the perfect snack.

Am I right in thinking you can only successfully grate chedder cheese. I love a bit of Stilton and pickle but tends to crumble and make a huge mess everywhere. Also- does anyone buy pre grated cheese?

Love cheese sarnies, except for the ones my darling Wife made for me when she decided thick slices of Parmesan as we had run out of Cheddar. She reasoned that they looked the same so must taste the same. They didn't.

Here, there and everywhere
Grated, because the cheese goes further. Thick slices are for having in your ploughmans.

Useless fact - don't expect grated cheese sandwiches if your mrs is heavily pregnant - you can't grate things without stomach muscles

The missus makes her own pickled spiced shallots. A few of those bad boys in with some sliced mature cheddar and BOOM - instant perspiration on the bridge of the nose. Damn good stuff though.

I trust all you grated cheese afficienado's are grating it YOURSELF from a proper slab, as opposed to buying a BAG of grated cheese. That is the ULTIMATE in lazy-arsedness.

There is no other way!!! Did you know they cover pre grated cheese in potato starch so that it doesn't clump. makes it taste disgusting.

I have gone for sliced. I'm indifferent from an eating perspective, both have their pros and cons. However, the act of grating the cheese is far, far too much trouble if you also include the cleaning up afterwards. Its easier to just slice the cheese and eat that Sandwich.

Also with sliced you get to bite through the cheese - thus adding TEXTURE. And with grated it all flops out the side.

I confess to being disappointed as to the results of this poll to date.

To cheer myself up, I'm going to give 'Grated' a boost.

I have a (GRATED) cheese, pickle and rocket sandwich, on granary seeded bread, which I prepared lovingly this morning.

I hope this cheers you up a little.
