Wanna go away somewhere nice for a few nights with a ladyfriend.

Had our hearts set on Reykjavik but I can't find anything that cheap.

I'm talking a package that's under £500 for flights, hotel an everything. Anyone know any good places to look other than lastminute.com?

Would quite fancy an Eastern European city or just somewhere a bit different that I've not been to before (so NOT some shitty French pisshole)

Yes well done dougdeep, SUPERB thinking. Why didn't I think of that?

But OH LOOK it's just mountains of sponsored links and ads which aren't always easy to sift through.

I was kind of hoping somebody on here might have some helpful recommendations, perhaps with personal experience to back them up...

I'm not a complete f***ing SPAZ, I can work the internet, but I always prefer to hear other people's ideas before trusting my moolah with some random website I've never heard of.

So EXCUSE ME for asking the advice of others you miserly old cock

And here was me thinking somebody might pipe up with:

"Yes Bluejuice, me and the mrs got a superb city deal to Tallinn through suchandsuch.com and would HEARTILY recommend it"

Am I REALLY asking too much?

REALLY?

easyjet are doing cheap flights to vienna, its a lovely place, some good bars and restaurants, and at the risk of being labelled pretentious some really beautiful architecture.

500 quid will easily get you a city break anywhere in Europe if you do some research and book it independently.

Much better. Thank you.

But nobody has any specific websites they'd recommend other than Easyjet?

One method I tend to use is to book something cheap on Easyjet and then worry about accommodation. Get a Lonely Planet and take it from there. 500 will get you a lot if you are prepared to book in advance and put an hour or so into research. You will always find somewhere so have faith in booking flight and hotel seperately. You can find some gems of accommodation if you dig about on the net...Thorn Tree is a good place. If you have your eye on a particular hotel/guest house check if any internet reviews exist.

It depends on what you want. If you want a picturesque city I would go for a north eastern european city, like Vilnius (Lithuiania) or Tallin (Estonia) or Riga (Latvia). The last two have quite a few stag do's, so could be quite lively. If you want a very interesting, cultural and buzzy city I would recommend Berlin. It has so much to offer and remains the cheapest capital city in Europe. I would stay at The Circus Hotel or The Circus Hostel, centrally located and superb service. Hope this helps!

One the Berlin tip I used to live there...and am happy to impart my knowledge on the place.

I know you said no french 'piss-holes', but come end of June, I am flying with RyanAir, to Nimes, Southern France, for £55 return. And Nimes is no 'piss-hole'. It's gorgeous.

If your not scared about flying Ryan Air. If you book a month or so in advance, you can book many return tickets for around £55. May not be to the 'main' cities. But in my opinion, I'd pick somewhere like Nimes over Paris every time.

Then obviously sort out accomodation whilst you are there. I've been on similar trips a number of times to quiet places like Nimes and find if you find a nice place, it's pretty easy to bargain a price for a set amount of nights (ofcourse only works if the place isn't fully booked - or looks like being fully booked).

Again, sorry, not a 'cheap city package' website, but just an idea.
