Charlie Gilmour-The Rich Sussex Anarchist

Dandyman

In London village.
Quite frankly if you riot you risk getting hit with a baton. Simples!!!

If he wasn't there rioting he wouldn't have got hit.

Oh and as an afterthought Stoo82 is correct in asking is there video evidence he was hit by a baton and if so why?

Where is there any evidence he was rioting ?

Yes, there does need to be a proper investigation but if that happened at a game what would you think ?

For what it's worth, my wife used to work with Gilmour's daughter and the policy was very much "pay your own way" rather than "here's a silver spoon".

I feel a bit sorry for Dave Gilmour. The fact the lad studied history and didn't know he was hanging from the Cenotaph makes it even worse.

Maybe he didnt study Cenotaph history?

Read and digest the riot laws then tell me he wasn't!!!

IF a policeman used a baton at a football match dare say there would be video evidence from the cctv.

Dare say it will conveniently get lost, or recorded over. This is the usual procedure.

I hope he falls down the steps at the police station...repeatedly!

He will probably go to court, get a lecture from the judge and a hundred hours community service...I hope he has to serve it somewhere like St Dunstan's...that should be a far more educational experience for him than his time at university.

I can't help wondering also if people would be quite so gung-ho about students getting a shoeing if at one of our away games the Police decide we can't follow a previously agreed route to and from the ground, we then get held for 3 hours on a freezing cold night with no access to toilets or hot drinks, and the OB decide that the use of horses and dogs is exactly what is needed to calm the situation.

Palace away when we lost 5 nil.

I think the key thing is whether a kid goes out to work or not. Whether or not earning their own money is "make or break" is immaterial. I'm sure Stella McCartney was helped along the way by daddy, but she's now a British success story helping jobs, taxes etc.

Paul McCartney insisted that his kids went out to work. Mate of mine who lives in Hastings used regularly to see her working behind the bar in a pub near Rye.

EMA means kids who once upon a time would not have done A Levels or higher level NVQs have the opportunity to do so. I am sure I not the only one who is old enough to remember school friends who were brighter than me leaving at 16 because their parents expected them to bring money into the household. Focusing on Gilmour Minor just seems a fairly cynical way of diverting attention from the real issues.

Not one of the coalition's best moves, and I say that as a moderate Conservative. As a paternalist (yes, you socialists will really hate this), I would continue the payments, but insist that every pound is spent on education-related items - train fares, etc. It did not impress me that some were coming on here boasting how they spent their EMA on beer.

Didn't Barrell of Fun go to Lancing College? I'm sure he'll tell us if it was wall to wall berets and che guevara t-shirts

There were a few Che Guevara t-shirts, but that was more in homage of Rage Against the Machine as opposed to a political statement. The berets were limited to CCF as far as I am aware.

I can't recall any sort of political matters other than the weekly debating society that was all talk and no action.

He will probably go to court, get a lecture from the judge and a hundred hours community service...I hope he has to serve it somewhere like St Dunstan's...that should be a far more educational experience for him than his time at university.

I'm not sure it would be a far more educational experience, but it is the least he owes to society for his crass behaviour.

obviously never listened to The Final Cut or Southampton Dock, although not surprising as written by Waters and old man Gilmour removed himself from the production credits:lolol:

Funny though how all the tabloids and the Argus keep banging on about his 'dad' and no mention of his mum Polly Sampson who was one time Sunday Times journalists.

Give the kid a break. He did something stupid whilst he was pissed and got carried away. He's young, these things happen. Not his fault he's the son of a rich rock star.

Give the kid a break.

Neck, leg or fingers?

(There isn't a great deal that causes me real offence, but ripping the Union Flag off the Cenotaph does, so regardless of his background, class or whether he was off his face on coke I hope he learns the error of his ways)
