If there is any silver lining to this then I would say it is the comments on their Facebook page are worth a read,

i must congratulate you on the fact you have done what no other football show has ever done

you seem to have united all football fans from every team in the country

We all think you are shit

I hate to say this - because I like Virgo and hate Claridge - but it made ITVs Chiles-a-thons look like a cross between Match of the Day and a really stylish movie, say Tarantino or something with Audrey Hepburn in it.

Utter, utter, utter, utter shit

Brighton - In your face
It's not difficult is it?
30 ish games on the Saturday afternoon.
Needed:
A massive server to connect to the recordings servers.
8 students to make a note of highlight worthy moments (from text updates) Can be done from 3pm, then given to editors:

Editing: 2 templates (one long, one short)
10 sub editors
1 overall (live) editor

A studio.
Two cameramen
A presenter
A guest.

The most difficult bit is the commentary over a montage of games, something the BBC did well.

****loads of adverts as you're a Mickey Mouse channel.
And put it out at 9pm to give yourself very little time.

70% of people I reckon will record it anyway - the only reason I'd sit through 2 hours of league 1&2 football of other teams is if I was comatosed on the sofa at 1am. Which is why the BBC worked for me.

BBC also missed a trick, they should have done a local service for those in the area, like when they switch to South East today. Not sure how feasible it would have been with the choice of teams but that red button may have had some use.

They did. they had a weekly local half hour show with more features/highlights on Monday nights called Kick Off.

They make a fuss over their cardboard league tables with a ceremonial pause for spontaneous banter and then fail to actually show all
of it! If you are in position 11 - 16 you don't exist apparently.

The 9pm slot means that my alcohol level is likely to be dangerously low. Big drawback.

The question is would you rather have the old programme post match of the day (and not always transmitted) or something like this much earlier.

i dont see why these should be the options. i'd rather Sunday if it means they dont have to rush production and get a regular, sensible time. i haven't watched yet, its been recorded for later this evening.

Perhaps somebody should have made it clearer to them, that they were supposed to be making a replacement for The Football League Show, not Soccer AM.

Yep. They only did 10-15 progs a season. Jacqui Oatley presented the Albion / London and South East One.

Which is why, of course, that most of the time you missed it. Without a regular WEEKLY spot in the programming, it was bound to fail.
