Congrats to Brentford. Will probably be stronger than Swansea would have been but, on the upside, the sort of side we quite suit playing.

I'm not sure. They seem to be a pocket Albion - well run, new ground, buy shrewdly rather than over the odds for name players.

I have a feeling they'll finish below us but will avoid relegation, perhaps relatively comfortably.

Pleased for Brentford. Good to see a new club in the Premier League - the more the wealth gets spread around the better. Thought Swansea were very unlucky with the sending off. Wasn't excessive force, just careless. The refs really do themselves no favours when they whip out the red card without giving themselves a second to think - makes it look a rash decision regardless. If it had been on the lino's side of the pitch, maybe he'd have thought it through a bit more.

Blackpool vs Lincoln currently on... Blackpool 2-1 up and playing great. Max Sanders on the bench for Lincoln (and Bridcutt starting), wouldnt be surprised to see him on soon.

Sanders has barely featured for Lincoln since his move, he’s made the bench most of the time but just doesn’t seem to be used. Just 1 start and 4 appearances off the bench for them this season and that’s with the option of using 5 subs in the EFL. It’s not worked out as well as I think both Lincoln and Sanders thought it would but he’s still young and has time.

Sanders has barely featured for Lincoln since his move, he’s made the bench most of the time but just doesn’t seem to be used. Just 1 start and 4 appearances off the bench for them this season and that’s with the option of using 5 subs in the EFL. It’s not worked out as well as I think both Lincoln and Sanders thought it would but he’s still young and has time.

I didn't think I was being overly harsh more stating facts, I even said he's young and has time to turn it around.

Yes he picked up an injury but he was back for the last 9 games of the league season and the play offs. He even started his first game back in the squad after injury and lasted just 45 mins. Since then he's made just two sub appearances and was left on the bench for all three play off games. He's got to be disappointed not to have played more, especially after playing regularly at the same level the previous season with AFC Wimbledon.

Disaster is a slight exaggeration, dont you think?

Lincoln had their best season in many, many decades and he was never going to walk into the lineup under those circumstances - of course they have wanted to keep their winning team, especially since Max got injured for more than a month and then came back in the dying months of the season where everything is at stake. At that stage he was as likely to grab a place in the team as Vegard Forren was in the season Brighton got promoted to the PL.

While I'm sure Max would have wanted to play more its far too early to label it a disaster. I think he was signed not primarly with the current season in mind (because things were going well) but for the next one. I'm sure he will be a more competitive part of the squad. As always, a bit of patience is a good thing.

He’s just 22. I saw him in a cup game for us earlier this season and was surprised by how good he was. He left us because the strength in depth of our young midfielders is too much for him to complete with. Too much in terms of Bissouma, Groß & Lallana swallowing up all the 1st team starts backed up by youngsters who have full international appearances under their belts such as Moder, Molumby, Alzate & Baluta and that’s ignoring players like Pröpper and Richards who are probably ahead of him as well. Then someone like Caicedo joins the club and you know that if you’re English, you’ve got to be an England U21 regular to get a sniff.

Sanders’ time will come, he might even make it as an EPL player having left us young (like Cook) but he left because we have a world class academy and he just couldn’t compete; he’ll still be a very good player at some point.

Let's hope for better next season then - but please note I did include the words 'so far', which you appear to have overlooked.
