When I was at college back in 91 - 93 me and my mate used to play the old CM on the Amiga all the time. We regualrly took days of college and spent the whole day from early till early hors playing.
I was alway Brighton, and he (as he was a Man U) was always someone in the same div as me, just to make it interesting, even he used to not like being Man Utd!

Neither of us had birds, jobs, or any bloody worries.
Marvellous days and memories, wish I could go back there.

Here is a player some people regard as a true CM legend......

Tonton Zola Mokouko!!

If you have an updated version of CM4, apparently he is in the Danish league but not that good.

Latter versions of CM (maybe from 98 - 02) was his prime era and was found at Derby.

Cherno Samba (Millwall), Ashikodi (Millwall), Rungratsamee (Pompy), Coid (Blackpool) are present players that I can reel-off but I have to admit, are slightly out of Albions reach but def worth keeping an eye on nevertheless.

I found that Hinshe, Virgs, Hammond, Harding, Cullip (obviously) and sometimes Knight were good players, Harding especially in a narrow midfield 3.

Legend! He was part of my all-conquering Reading side, with the Swedish genius Jesper Redin getting 45 a season up front and Mark Tobin in midfield, Martin Ridley at CB ...

Sadly, in the newer versions, these players are all utter shite :nono:

Got pissed off with playing last nighton the original CM4 version after 4 players in two games picked up injuries of 2 months of longer. Why did they even bother releasing such a f***ed version?

CM should come with a health warning.

I started playing this game a couple of months ago. I was going to bed at 2am, getting up at 7am to get an hour in before work.

My relationship got strained and my performance at work dipped. One weird side effect was the split between reality and the game.

I thought David Lee and Wilkinson was good and was convinced that we had signed Kevin Kyle. Why wasn't he on the bench? My laptop died eventually. My only release.

Basically, it just takes over your life! If heroin came on a CD-Rom it would be called Championship Manager :nono:

f*** SAKE we need the search facility working

Anyway, 2nd season with Cowdenbeath and Peter Beardsley (my coach) is poached by Leeds Utd. I end up 2nd and promoted to the 2nd division and get Teddy Sheringham into replace Peter...marvelous. Also found a nifty training regime and the players are looking abit more healthy, also got Virgo at CB but he's pretty shit...but my huge summer signing was Junior Agogo and he's class!

even though after 5 games i'm second from bottom in Div2

If you go to the CM4 site, you can download a programme that lets you search your saved game and tells you which players have the highest potential development. Nathan Ellington and some Finnish fellow are top of the pops.

ok, any of you get the same couple of things like I do when playing CM...........

1. During a actual game, whenever you touch the mouse to do a sub, change a tactic etc, etc. the opposition score!! My mate and I think this happens about 90% of the time. Obviously the computer is enjoying the game so when you want to stop it, it (computer) gets pissed off at you and makes THEM score.

2. You dominate a match having 30-odd shots at goal with 20-odd on target with zero success. The opposition have 1 shot at goal which is on target and decides to be the winner (aka Leicester V Albion). Their keeper decides to then be Superman for the day only because it is YOU playing. Again, my mate and I agree that this happens WAY too frequently for me liking and is F:censored: annoying!
