Was 40mill unreasonable for Tevez? i dont think so given what some price players have gone for, maybe the 150k wages might have some effect, inter wanted him but admitted they cant afford his wags or if he was really that unhappy he would take a pay cut.
I think they should just come to a mutual termination that said, i think Tevez has screwed himself if he hopes to get a payoff

and £40m is certainly not unreasonable for him........when you think of torres for £50m, £40m for tevez is a bit of a BARGAIN
As with all things in life players are only worth what another club is willing to pay,if no one was willing to pay 40 million then he was not worth that ,City should have done some negotiating . I guess it's a tad ironic but if there's one club who can afford to make the bloke sit around doing sod all for the rest of his contract it's Man City. I wonder if Tevez is acting like a prat not just because he is one but he's trying to lower any possible transfer fee as he is now viewed by the rest of the World as a complete wanker. Do I feel sorry for Citeh ? Hell no, they wanted him so badly just to annoy United and clearly Fergie showed his nous by letting him go.

The one incredibly sad fact is that not so long ago, Tevez was an absolute dynamo on the pitch. The sort of player who can take a game by it's bootstraps and really make things happen. When he wants to play he is a diamond, pity that his whole career will be remembered for this stupid act.
