Carl Rook ... triallist

Apparently we have a prolific non-league striker on trial with us next week.

Carl Rook is a Horsham born striker, who has scored 47 goals in 58 games over the last 2 seasons for Tonbridge Angels.

Personally, I like the idea that we are trawling local soccer for the best talent around. It may well be a low hit rate on uncovering gems, but I find nothing more infuriating than when we hear of someone making it elsewhere, and it turns out they were right under our noses and we never took a look.

Any relation to Steve Rook?

Couldn't hurt to have a look at him, there have been some decent strikers come out of non-league football down the years.....Ian Wright, Stan Collymore, Lee Hughes, Geoff Horsfield....

Was at Horsham couple seasons back when they had fa cup run. Tidy player but didn't really strike me as a league player. Can't see how he could of improved that much in 2 years at the same level, but you never know!

.... Malcolm MacDonald, and closer to home, Paul Emblen who were all Tonbridge players before making it into the league.

Rookie!!!

One of the funniest footballers I've ever met! Great lad played at Hastings when I was there, even played a couple of games for me in the reserves.

He sounds dreadful. Why don't we try and sign some proper players?

Yeah 47 in 58 is a shocking scoring rate, how dare the club take a look at someone with a record like that to see if he could do something at a higher level.

As an aside, I'm genuinely not sure whether you're just immensely stupid, or enjoy making 'I'm so controversial' posts as someone else has already put it. Which of course would also make you immensely stupid, not to mention immature and insecure.
