It's got that charmless identikit look to it. Why do so many of these new stadiums look so bland? Where is the imagination? And you just know they will have the PA system cranked up to 1000 decibels, too.

I agree with this. From the inside it looks just like Plymouth's, which looks just like Southampton's, which looks just like Derby's and so on.

I am also very much enjoying natterjack's reply :falmer::clap:

Remember too that Cardiff owe a bank rather a lot of money for the new home.

I've always considered Cardiff City to be the club closest in size and stature to ourselves really - certainly since the 1960s anyway.

So it saddens me a little bit to think that our stadium is "only" going to hold 23,000. All of our competitors are still going to be in bigger grounds than ourselves - even Reading, and they really are two-bob.

Obviously I'm going to have to take heart that our stadium is going to look a bit different and far far more asthetically pleasing than these identikit efforts, but still.

P.S. I thought Sam Hammam was going to build a 60k seater for the "Barcelona of Britain" :tosser: :tosser: :tosser: :tosser:

So it's not just me who thought someone had posted a picture of the Madjeski Stadium then ?

Believe me, Cardiff's new (Legoland) stadium is nowhere near the standard Falmer will be - so don't get too jealous.

Just put up with Withdean for a little longer

Oi-get back to work. You've got a stadium to build.

Whereas we owe one man considerably more-thankfully in a different way but nonetheless we still owe it.

that's pretty much IDENTICAL to the Madjeski

I think that you'll find the build quality at Reading is much better. The suggestion seems to be that Cardiff's new ground has been thrown up as quickly & cheaply as possible.

See Natterjack's previous posts on the Blue, corrugated perspex cladding etc at the new Ninian ...

Maybe it has been built like that so it can easily be converted into an IKEA store.
