Re- cardiff City - It really couldn't happen to a nicer club. Ridsdale is hanging on by his finger tips, selling everything that isn't nailed down in the forlorn hope that some Malaysian is going to ride to the rescue with £6m to throw away :lolol::lolol:

Who in their right mind would bail them out? They have a stadium that is a mill-stone around their necks as they mortgaged everything to pay for it, are £30m in debt and have sold (and spent) ALL their income streams for next season - 10,000 Season Tickets, TV money, catering, premier seating, car parking, etc

Portsmouth SACK 85 people.

2 players willing to take a pay cut.

Giddy Aunt.

Must be heart-warming going home to your family having been made redundant from your £16,000 a year job as an office admin type at Fratton Park while donkeys like Kanu, Utaka and Richard Hughes still have their contracts and £20,000 per week salaries.

They could save money by sending Jamie O'Hara back to Spurs as he cannot play against them in the cup and they are virtually relegated so unless Fulham beat Spurs he is past being useful to Portsmouth.

Um, am I being thick here? If a club is wound up, why is there a need for a points deduction?

If the club is wound up , technically there is a points deduction as they end up with 0 points. :lolol:

Cardiff representative, Elaine Palser, argued the club was solvent and that an Asian businessman, who has already invested £500,000 into the club, "has indicated he will give it £6million". "We are confident that these funds are coming in," she said. "This is not an insolvent company. There is £36m of net assets, and the players are worth about £30m."

Methinks she's been spending far too long on planet Storrie / Ridsdale.
And if this asian businessman (always from the other side of the planet, these investors eh) has said he will give the club £6m, then why in the name of FRIG hasn't he started off by clearing this £1.9m tax bill already ?

Bullshit bullshit bullshit all the way, and I'm happy HMRC are severely clamping down on this now. This is the wake-up call, and the cocks are crowing BIG time.

I hope (and think) you are right, Easy.

If HMRC fail to get Portsmouth wound up it is certain they will go for somebody else and will eventually succeed.

Good because they are acting on our (the taxpayers) behalf and it is time clubs stopped taking the piss. Administrators should not, in my opinion, be able to continue paying ridiculous wages to players whilst owing £Xm to HMRC.

Why didn't the Administrator of Portsmouth sever the contracts of a number of players today? They must have some potential Bosmans who have no sale value who they could have got shot of? And any loan players should be immediately be returned to their parent club.

Couldnt agree more but the administrator is acting on behalf of Portsmouth Fc not the creditors so it makes no difference to him whether they get any money or not but he will still be the first person who is paid.
