Have to say I was not expecting Bennett to slap in a transfer request but if the buying club will double or treble your wages it's clear that however much we love them and however happy they are that the temptation will be too great..unless you are Matt Le Tissier. When Norwich 1st came in for Bennnet we were well clear at the top and thare was no guarantee that Norwich would get promoted, Elliott wanted out for the money. If Cardiff want to pay Nooney loads who knows? I'm not saying he wants out or that Cardiff will pay loads just that dismissing it out of hand as an insult is somewhat naive given recent history.

I wonder if there was a significant difference in what they offered Bennett in the summer as to earlier ..considering thy were then in the premiership..surely there was the lure of prem football as well (at the end).

Oh undoubtably, once they were up he'd have been crazy not to go but in January last year most of us didn't believe he wanted out until he slapped in a transfer request.

Yep, I'm surprised Lambert (CM spits on the ground) hasn't already offered us 50p for our entire squad in this transfer window - seems to be the going rate for BHA-Norwich transfers.

At the moment I would value Noone well above both KLL and Buckley. The fact that some teams are now doubling up on him shows his impact on a game. While he needs to work on his final ball there are not many players in the Championship that have the level of ability that Noone shows and has consistently been one of our best players on the pitch. He has even improved defensively (Burnley) and after CMS probably the biggest work rate. Trying to be impartial I can't see he is worth much less that £1 million and would hate to see him go even with cover of KLL and Buckley

750 k + we should let him go. Alright with his trickery but no final ball as yet, compared to LuaLua he is worse

Out of interest did you see Noone at Coventry before he got injured?.I just wonder where we could find a player who terrorises defenders like that for 750k?

what a cheeky bid - 500k!!!

He's proven at champ level now and is more than young enough to improve beyond anything we have at brighton - 500k!!!!!! Fking liberty - Thats the craziest offer ive ever seen.
Yep he's only just turned 24 and is improving all the time,if we sell to any championship club i will be seriously pi$$ed off.

I think some of the posters shouting 'joke' at others who don't agree with their valuation need to take a step back. No one on here is saying that Noone isn't a very good player, just that some of us have a more realistic idea of his current market value, ie; around 750k. As much as I love his trickery I get far more excited when Buckley gets the ball as he's more likely to score or create a goal scoring chance. If Noone can add that to his game then his value will rise to that of Will's or above.

But he does have this armoury in his game - through ball to buckley against donny for the winner was the best pass ive seen all year. Cross for CMS header! perfect. He's still learning and i would hate to mark him, fast tricky and generally sits defenders on their arses hence why cardiff want him. To say he doesnt have any final ball is a little insulting to a very decent prospect indeed.

+ the defending side of Noone's game is Way better than Buckley or LuaLua's.

Calm down dear, I've never said he doesn't have any final ball, just that he doesn't have enough end product yet. I could pick out a few passes from Harley that have been outstanding, yet he gets slated left right and centre. Not comparing the two as players, just highlighting the point.

lol. im calm. i completely understand your point but there have been times when he has delivered decent balls in the box and we have had no attacking players there to convert. Hardly surprising when we play 1 up front though.

How much did Buckley cost? Take that and add another £500k and I'd let him go (i.e. he's staying with us - end of).

One of the most laughable bids I have ever seen. 400k?! Noone has been, overall, our player of the season and we ripped off Plymouth in taking him for 300k a year ago. He has since terrorised pretty much every fullback he has played against. There is no way we will sell him to Cardiff, and no way he would want to go there unless they are willing to double/triple his money.

There are loads of English players like Noone. He's the classic new breed English winger- fast, tricky, great at beating his man but with no end product. You can get a player like that for half a million. But if he can develop into someone who delivers a decent final ball an can finish, then his price will rocket into the millions. We'd be mad to let him go for less than £1.5 mil in my opinion.

This is it really, if he matures into a player that can cross the ball perfectly and who can finish, we'll have someone who could rate along side players like Ryan giggs & Marc overmars......worth millions!

Sorry, wasn't meant to sound patronising, just went a bit Michael Winner there. I agree the lack of someone gambling in the box has been a problem for all our creative players this season. I would be very disappointed if we sold Noone this season.

Are we missing the point?
Noone is part of our plans and we,re an ambitious club,so why sell now it would be bloody stupid. We are expanding our ground to 31k and an amazing training complex is on the way.

It should be a straight hands off to any championship club unless noone wants to go,but selling to cardiff would be beyond belief and would show we have no ambition.
