Is Ashley Young not an option on the right.

Also a tad concerned when the right back options are Wes Brown or Glen Johnson.
With Young you could switch Cole to the right, as Young is probably a bit better with his left. The option to switch the wingers would be useful as well. But Capello so far seems to prefer Downing to Young oddly.

As for rightback, Micah Richards please.

I think the issue you have with Richards is that he is probably a centre back.

I hope Bardsley pushes on this season, as that could solve the right back issue, in the long term.

OK we've solved the wings, now can we agree that only ONE of Gerrard/Lampard can play, and that they are chosen on FORM not on whether they're fit or not.

You'll get no argument from me on that.

I must admit I had high hopes for Capello as he was an outsider so would pick on form and ability and not how many times they had made the papers that week. The very fact he picks Downing over Young worries me and despite a number of friendlies we are still persisting with the same formations and systems under the previous management.

Biggest concern is our lack of striking options and I honestly cannot remember a time in my life we have had such a lack of talent to pick from. At least when we were playing shit a Lineker or Shearer would pop up and bag a goal we look toothless upfront at the moment.

Rooney for me is vastly overrated and the others (Defoe, Heskey, Crouch etc) would not make half of the rest of Europes starting national eleven.

Its a shame and maybe a win on wednesday might inject some life into the team as at the moment we are playing with all the passion and ability of a corpse

I didn't want us to get rid of Sven - certainly not to be replaced by McClaren.

I think Capello is as good a coach as you are going to get. He has proved that. Whether England's over-paid superstars are COACHABLE is another matter...

The next thing is to get Sven back as manager, then things will start to move forward.

The most important thing of all is that Downing doesn't play. He is the dictionary definition of mediocre.

Steve Guppy wasn't even the best player at Colden Common, a little HICK village just down the road from me, who's team play in the same SUNDAY LEAGUE as mine.

It doesn't need a pageful of stats to prove that Capello's done the square route of f-all with England so far. There are some fundementals that will currently ensure failure:

1. He's still playing Beckham
2. He's still playing Lampard/Gerrard together
3. He no speaka da lingo
4. He's still playing Beckham

Until those points are addressed for starters, we're going nowhere under this bloke.

5. Players still need to learn how to hold onto the ball.
6. Players need to know that when you are off the ball it IS okay to move about.
7. Players need to understand that you dont have to launch an attack every time you are in possession.
8. The left peg can be used for other things aside from standing e.g. shooting, first touch
