Of primary school age and my older brother took me to a run-of-the-mill league game in Jan1976 versus Colchester. Peter Taylor was in charge.
Witnessed a 6-0 win. Even then, 16,000 turned out to see the sleeping giants of the Albion.
Within weeks I was taken to my first evening game .... a 2-0 win over Palace in front of 33,500.
Magical Goldstone under lights.
After that, hooked for life.
Uncle took me from Worthing 27th Dec 1958 Div Two BHA 3 v Fulham 0 Goldstone 36,342
Here's how the Argus reported it...
Man, i wish I was around in those days!
That's brilliant!
By the time I'd got back to Newhaven, the Argus would often be how you'd find out the results of the day
Seem to recall thumping Chester 6-0 that season too
