Didn't realise how bad our record is when we're faced with the crunch match against the big teams

WC 1954 lost Uruguay (then Champions)

WC 1962 lost to Brazil

WC 1970 Lost to Brazil

WC 1990 lost to Germany on pens

WC 1998 lost to Argentina

WC 2002 lost to Brazil

Euros 2004 lost to Portugal

WC 2006 lost to Portugal on pens

WC 2010 lost to Germany

Euros WC2012 lost to Italy

On the plus side, we've played France twice in 66 and 82 both times in the group stage, both times we got a result.

Third time lucky?

Remember. France just need a draw (as, like any other top side, they’ll smash us at penalties and they know it as well as our players do).

How many of those above results were draws?

You mean we only get knocked out by the best teams?

f***ing Southgate. I always said he was shit.

It would of been so much better if Wales had knocked us out.

In defence of Southgate between 2018 and 2022, he's won 6 knockout games

It took the period of 1968 - 2018 to do this.

I am certain that England will be defeated on Saturday. I shall reserve an egg quite gladly to park on my face if they win.

It's been an odd tournament for me England wise as I have been quite convinced of a QF exit to France that I wondered whether they should take it by default and return home.

If England are to ever win a World Cup again we will have to knock out a couple of big boys along the way unless the draw is very very kind. I can see England winning Saturday yes they have Mbappe although the midfield and defence isn’t super fantastic.
Tough game but winnable.

Will be a very tough game for ya'll. France is immensely talented everywhere on the pitch and their bench is ridiculous. However, I do think ya'll have the pieces to matchup to them. Key battle will be how well Stones and whoever else do against Mbappe, dude can win it from anywhere.

Rooting for ya, good luck!
