Can Brighton Realistically get promoted to the Premiere League this season?

Of course Brighton are going to get promoted, probably as champions.

Do you not beeieve the evidence before your own eyes?

The team is fantastic, the manager is the best in the league and the stadium is fit for Premier League football.

I kind of dread to think about going up, dont really like much about the premier league and all its hype, but no doubt will love it if we got there. Not sure the bank balance would like me too much for £40+ matchday tickets, and increase in season ticket prices etc, but its the price we pay for doing well

BUT, you'd only have to buy 19 of them, rather than 23...

We've only won 3 games, and only just won 2 of them, so I expect us to be a fair way off getting promoted - but to answer your question, I think it would be better for us to stay in the championship. Hopefullt do well, get the extra seats, get more fans into the ground, and then get promoted in a few years with closer to 30k watching us week in week out, and enjoying the promotion. Not only are our team not ready for another step up, but we'd get 30 thousand fans to go an watch premiership football, and many wouldn't have been able to enjoy seeing us get there. They'd just come and see us get whipped by prem teams, and wonder what all the fuss is about.

I agree we have only won 3 games and it's a bit early to celebrate promotion.

However I don't understand why it's better to wait a few years to get promoted. Like others have asked, do you think it would have been better to stay in league one last year? If we just miss out over the next couple of years, Chelsea come in for Poyet, who are you planning on taking us up? I believe we would get crowds nearing 30K this year for some games if we had the capacity, I would be very confident of attracting 30k next season if we were in the premier league.

Let's use the momentum from Last Season/Poyet/The Amex/14 Years of hurt to take us all the way to the premier league! If it happens it would be great, don't worry about it being too early.... and anyway isn't the world supposed to end in 2012?

I really hope we do but can we keep this winning form up and would we be ready for the Premiere League or would we need a season in the Championship before taking the massive step?

I am had Albion seventh in my pre-season forecast, but I had Cardiff in the play-offs. If 73 pts is good enough for the play-offs we will be there or thereabouts. Teams ahead of the Albion in my forecasts were Forest, Leicester, Cardiff, Southampton, Reading, and another I cannot remember. We are 4 points ahead of schedule and Leicester are 6 pts behind. Cardiff are not longer rated. I think Portsmouth and Palace will be challenging as well with Reading and Southampton and West Ham.

This time last year we had four points and weren't exactly full of the joys.

Which rather suggests things can be deceptive at this stage of the season. I'm loving it so far, but forgive me for being cautious in terms of what it all means for the season as a whole.

Last season witrh Navarro injured and out of the Cups, I thought it was another wasted season at this time last year.

So it is Brighton and Southampton going up automatically and Reading, West Ham, Portsmouth and Palace in the play-offs just ahead of Millwall. Now who is going to win the Cups?

It would be useful to re stoke our friendly/not so friendly part time rivalry with Southampton to gee eachother up the league. Wouldn't want to see Palace there though.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion thats its inevitable that we will end up in the Premier League at some point, worst case senario is that Gus has established up in this divison and moved on whilst someone else takes over the reigns and eventually takes us up. Bit like Martinez / Rodgers at Swansea.

Will we do it this year? Their is a chance I suppose and if you look at what clubs spent in this divison in the summer then we are second behind Leicester so it could be argued that we should be aiming for a second place finish.
We get a cleaer idea after the Ipswich game on October 1st as we would have played 10 league games by then.
