Way out West
They do what they need to do with the budget they have. I’ve a lot of respect for them.

I have SOME respect, but it has been their choice. They could have spent more (they were hoarding cash before the take-over), and they could have bought players who are more comfortable with the ball. They actually DO have some decent, skilful players (eg: McNeil, Westwood), but most of the time play it long and use their muscle. It makes coaching so much easier. Dyche is good at what he does, but it's rather like learning a foreign language - you can take the time to understand the nuances, or you can survive on a limited vocabulary and shout a lot. Dyche is the latter.

Everyone seems in unison here for once. It a great performance but understandable with injuries and what we’ve put in recently - and Burnley are ***** - so it’s a good point...!

An NSC first!?!?!!

I certainly agree with that Sheebs.

Must be!

Was surprised the first yellow wasn'r VAR'd to Red.
Is that not a thing anymore?

I thought the snide elbow to Macs head that laid him out in the 2nd half was certainly worthy of another look. The defender led with a forearm smash from behind into the side of his face - it was utterly reckless, yet drew no comment and was completely ignored by the offiicials.

Typical Burnley though. They've made getting away with that type of shit into an artform.

origigull makes a good point and I feel guilty for this - it’s catch 22 really...! So pleased to play a settled team but they are knackered. However, our injury list is very bad so who knows who could have started!!!

At least we know what will happen Wednesday, lots and lots of changes.

Surely Moder and Karbo should get some game time soon, both need to get their match fitness.up, especially Karbo who will be needed odown the left with Solly most likely out for the season.

Special cup edition of pick the picks?

What do you guys think for the cup though? I think we’re as good as safe so would love a cup run but it’s clear players need a rest. Play the Polish lads? Will everyone accept it as one of those things with injuries and fatigue if we make 7 changes and lose 4-0? Will our fans be accepting enough of the situation and just forget it if that happens? It’s such a tough one and the injury list is the problem for me...

Bad second half. Like I said before the game, Burnley would want it more and they did, they played better than Liverpool. Needed bravery on the ball to keep it, but Burnley carried on with their dirty tactics and rattled us.

How they didn’t have 2 sendings off...idk.

With Burn alone on the left to attack and defend we were very vulnerable. It worked in the first half but Dyche would have noticed, and they hit us hard early and bosh, goal. Putting White into a back four and bringing on Lallana was clever by Potter. A good point taken from a side, like us, who recently beat the champions.

Connolly will have received a bollocking for being selfish, I suspect. No wonder he doesn't start much.

I never expected to say it 6 months ago but we really missed Solly

Totally happy with that. A point today was always going to be a good result.

Our style works best against footballing teams so I always think we have more of a chance against the mid-table sides (and occasionally the top of the table sides).

Add to that 2 high intensity, high concentration 1-0 wins against spuds and 'pool since last Sunday and I'm just pleased we didn't collapse under the second half onslaught.

Credit to Burnley too. You cant fault Dyche's record and approach. Very few teams roll them over and I don't think its fair to think of them as a Pulis type Stoke or anything. Lets not forget that they beat Liverpool at Anfield as well, so they can defend and nick a goal with the best of them. They battered us for most of the second half because they played well and we ran out of puff.

Still, we had Lallana to bring on and he steadied the ship. I dare say they ran out of energy a little as well.

5 unbeaten
3 wins and 2 draws
2 goals against
11 points clear of relegation
Etc.

Most relaxed I've felt in ages.

I hope Webdini isnt out for long though...he's been at the heart of the change in fortunes.

That is all....

Maybe freshen up the midfield with Alzate and Propper (assuming he's over his injury) but otherwise keep most of the same 11.

Agree poor performance . I dont agree with tired issue all clubs including Burnley are playing often.. For this game a lot of credit to Burnley. Couldnt call it long ball as they played good football and unlucky many times in and around penalty area. Wont be popular on here but thought they focused on Burns weaknesses. Credit again to our CBs because thought Barnes and Vydra were a handful throughout.
