I would not critisise the girls. This will only play on their insecurities. Try to complement them. They will be so pleased and they will want more complements so wont have a go at you.
Violence could be the answer. I had a totaly unrelated fight with the "hardest" lad at school. I had a bleeding nose but the next day showed no affects the day after. He had a black eye which lasted for about two weeks. Nobody bullied me after, despite the fact I was quiet due to my low self confidence/ self esteem.
