They already are. They are a pit bull breed and should not be owned by anyone.

At the very least they should have a muzzling order on them.

I have no idea why anyone other than a criminal moron would want to own such an ugly, dangerous, monster. Let alone have it in the house.

I’d like to see the breed wiped out.

A Cockapoo caught my hand today whilst he was trying to rob the treats out of my pocket. I still have my hand.
An 'Oi', turning away from him & putting my hand over my pocket made him look sheepish. He technically did bite me but he's just a sh*t pick pocketer. No malice intended BUT if there was malice intended, I have the strength to pin him to the floor if I had to. You cannot pin an XL Bully that's pissed off to the floor. I don't understand why people can't see that it's not about 'how well behaved' their dog is, it's about the ability of the dog to cause damage when they're not so well behaved. No dog is perfect in the same way humans aren't. Anyone that thinks their dog is perfect is deluded.
Incidentally the owners of the Cockapoo were mortified, in the dogs defense I was carrying some 'hardcore' treats & I found it quite amusing that the dog was so cheeky. I wouldn't have found it quite so amusing if it was an XL Bully. Dogs slip collars and harnesses all the time, they can get muzzles off, why do people take the risk?

In America it is acceptable to say that it was perfectly safe keeping the loaded gun in the house the 7 year old shot his 5 year old brother dead with, because it had never happened before.

In the UK we have the same attitude to dangerous dog ownership that the Americans have to dangerous gun ownership.

A destruction order is the last resort and only used if necessary, often a control order such as muzzling when outside or rehoming the dog if the owner cannot cope is a better resolution.
As with most offences, there are varying degrees of seriousness/harm and to warrant destruction you have to think the dog represents an ongoing danger that cannot be mitigated.
Ordering the destruction of a dog is never taken lightly and is a horrible thing to have to do but sometimes it's unavoidable.


The dog that bit me in the 70s was a repeat offender and was put down (that was entirely due to a f*ckwit owner who just let it run around the streets)

The OB claiming they need another £25m for kenneling those which have been seized. On average, 100 dogs a month seized by the police are being destroyed.

Let's save £25m and police resources. They have the addresses of 57K potential killers. Seize them and immediately destroy them.

Walked round the harbour yesterday and there was a feller with one of these things. It was muzzled and calm but it still scared me, the sheer size of it.
As I've said before, if people are allowed to own and walk these bastards, I should be allowed to own and carry a .357 magnum.
