Fantastic series. Tennant and particularly Coleman were both excellent throughout

Some top acting performances throughout the series, nice to see a little " police brutality " administered by Olivia Colman but, it went out on a bit of a whimper really, I thought a more complex ending was in store. However, David Tennant alone is always worth watching and, combined with this great cast, made the series unmissable.

I was convinced that Granny Latimer was having an affair with Pauline Quirke's character. Why did Susan Wright take the skateboard?

The guy who was sent 'messages' from the dead seemed to disappear without much explanation.

He appeared when the towns people took part in lighting the bonfire on the beach, plus he was right when he said that Danny was killed by someone close and that his body was moved by boat.. also not 100% sure but I think he mentioned the number " 6 " as being significant, the Miller's lived at no 6 as we saw.

Really enjoyed this series and I'm glad it's coming back.

But how did Joe Miller burn the boat in the middle of the sea without help?

Is it realistic that the father of the boy killed would be allowed to visit the accused in jail after his arrest? Seemed unlikely to me. Any lawyers on here confirm that would be allowed? There were a few moments like that for me and I did find the ending a bit of an anti-climax but perhaps that is inevitable when a series has been so compelling as this was.

It was the custody sergeant doing his mate a favour wasn't it? He said something like "If anyone asks you weren't here" or something as he let him in

Enjoyed it overall, but thought it should have been run over, say 6 episodes rather than 8.Dragged a bit in the middle.
Last night was a bit of a let down;we knew next to nothing about Joe and what made him 'fall in love' with a young lad of Danny's age.

I just watched this after recording it on itv encore. They showed an extended version of the finale, including the wake scene posted above.

I liked it. I'm unsure how I feel about the revelation of the killer, but I didn't actually try to predict it, which is unusual for me. Very good production, great acting. I'm impressed so many people here suspected the right person, I never really gave him a second thought.
