Don't get me wrong, i'm not the untimate F1 expert but surely from Brawns point of view, if you've got a car that is not retaining tyre temperature well and you are planning 2 long stints with a dash at the end, surely you want the softer tyres that will get hotter for the 2 long stints?

Why did they both run with the harder tyres for 25 odd overs in the second stints?
