Give him a chance and he will score goals. Play him up front with an effective striker, and he'll do wonders. Just ask Aldershot fans, they know the truth.

He partnered Forster for the one game he's started for us this season, that was never going to work. If he plays up front with Murray or Davies or Owusu, he'd be the missing link between midfield and attack, and he'll chip in with a few. He played up front against Huddersfield away a few years ago and scored a hattrick. Well then...

People seem to have forgot what happened two season ago thats what tends to happen it football,if he dosent have any talent or is lightwieght as some of the guys seem to think then how did he score so many goals a few seasons ago?
I'll Tell you how he did and it was having confidence and playing with someone who had an aeriel threat (Revell)

He scored 10 by the end of November including a hat-rick against Huddersfield, and did not trouble the scorer again for the rest of the season.

So was that a coincidence then....
Scoring 10 goals before november is not luck
And i would hazard a guess that the reason he didnt trouble much after that is because he was played on the right most of the time during the second half of the season anyways you said he is Your 4'th choice in an earlier post so seen as Forster & Murray are injured shouldnt he be playing?
Im not arguing we have different opinions its no big deal
I Just think now is the time that anything is worth trying:thumbsup:

I was making the point that next season he would be 4th choice, but this season he would be behind Owusu and possibly Hart at the moment as well.

But as you say football is about opinions. If he is recalled I hope that you are right and he scores a bucket load of goals. I would always support him wearing an Albion shirt even though I don't rate him.

What's the name of your act as I assume you appear under pseudonym when hitting the stage at the comedy night at the local pub!

He scored 6,(that's SIX) league goals. The others came in two FA cup matches against non league opposition with one in the JPT. Hardly prolific as you seem to suggest. Also, are you serioulsy trying to suggest he is not lightweight, christ, he lost half his body weight when he had a haircut!!!

Do you really see Owusu & Davies working? Because i dont..
Although i do agree in a sense about hart he has only been playing reserve football so it quite hard to judge at least Jake has been playing regularly for a first team for the past 6 matches he has scored 4 which isnt bad

Lets just hope whoever plays does the buisness and doesnt disappoint us albion fans travelling up to Milton:clap:

er, no. It's not. I'm not implying anything. I said he played an important role in us staying up after being recalled from Aldershot. But then I tend to form my opinions on games of football rather than reading statistics from the official site, game of opinions though etc. Anyone who was at games like Leicester and Burnley will know the impact he made and how important that was on us picking up points in those games.

I can only go on the times I've seem him play at the Withdean (I only miss one or two at most a season) and I know that when he steps out of the dugout there are numerous muppets in the crowd shouting 'come on Jakey'. He then comes on and does f*** all. Happened time and time again.

And I would add to that Shrewsbury away in the JPT.

There have been plenty of others at home, particularly last season when he came on for half an hour and it created more of a buzz and lifted the team, in a similar way Hart used to. I really can't see why anyone would object to one of our home grown players coming back to help the squad a bit when we are blatantly so short of attacking options at the moment. As I have said before, even if you are not Jake's greatest fan, which I am certainly not, you'd have to be mad to see that he gives us an option that we don't really have in the current fit squad.

The only people who get a buzz are the muppets who worship the ground he treads on. I very much doubt that the rest of the professional players at the club get excited about Robinson coming on the pitch. They are probably more petrified that they will be the one that suffers the stigma of being replaced by him!!!!!

Whats the point of bringing back a player who is going to be released at the end of the season ?

I would suggest that we bring back Robinson because we are short of fit strikers but leave Loft where he is because he isnt as good as the many midfielders that we have.

Worthing
.......we need someone who will get in behind and not be afraid

And you think that's Jake? He doesn't have the courage to get in where it hurts. Why do you think he has so many shots from well outside the area? Any defender knows how to keep him quiet - a couple of heavy challenges in the first 5 mins and he won't be back for any more.

Spot on. In the early days I always thought his best position was up front playing on the shoulder of the last defender and using his pace to get away, but then discovered that when he did get away he couldn't finish when he was one on one with the goalkeeper.

Nothing that has happened in the last 5 years has made me change my opinion, and I find it hard to understad why so many people still get excited by him coming on.
