Don't want to bite the bait, but surely all the above mentioned are a wind up!?
Barry - barely wore a Brighton shirt even in the youth teams
Nelse - well into his mid twenties having been at 2 or 3 clubs before us
Strong - who knows?.. Hasn't done a thing yet...

Try again...

Ian Chapman
Kerry Mayo
Any number of players from yesteryear...

It is a bit sad really to think Barry is the only one who has really made it to the big time from our youth set up.When you compare it to the likes of Crewe.

You cant really count Barry as coming from our youth set-up!

At the time the coaching staff thaught he was SHIT and only a make-weight for the Standing deal!

Id go for Hammond or Virgo in recent times.

Mayo????????????

Now who's on the wind up?

It terms of number of games i would say the investment justifies the choice. Most appearances in the modern era etc.
I never said I thought he was particularly talented did I?

People on here rave abouit Gary Chivers but, much like Mayo, he couldn't pass for toffee...

Surely has to be Barry, as he is the best player to come out our youth setup. Regardless of whether he was good when he left or not, the fact remains that he is now an England international, and starts every game, and that he came through our youth system.

Whoever said Mayo really is taking the piss surely, best player doesn't mean who's played the most games for us.
