Was playing an evening cricket match in Cheshire but managed to avoid finding out the score and was taping the match on SkyPlus.

Got home with about 10 minutes of normal time to play, and watched the match from the start on fast forward, with the intention of slowing it down whenever there were any exciting bits, which there weren't. When they scored the first goal I thought there was only going to be one winner. Carried on watching on fast forward and when they scored the second felt pig sick, could not believe we could play so poor. Managed to catch up with 'live' broadcast with about 2 minutes of extra time remaining. When the cross came across I saw Virgo head it, but leapt up and knocked the TV control over to terrestial. Took about 30 seconds to revert back to SKy and then there were marvellous scences in the loungs.

Never doubted we were going to lose the penalty shootout, it was an undeserved victory over two legs as they were better than us in both matches, but who cares now.

In my usual D block seat. Abiding memory of seeing all those "must get out to get the bus and beat the rush" tossers running back into the ground after Virgs scored. Wish they'd locked the gates on 'em.

I still find it funny that all those "happy" people that ran on the pitch when Virgo scored were actually the miserable sods who were walking out at the time.

I was (am?) one of those tossers. I was on my way out because I was gutted and wanted to avoid potential gloating SWinedon fans gloating, cos I would have decked em.

Decided to look back at one last attack and saw Virgo launch the ball into the net. I went mental. Then politely returned to my seat.

Sat in my usual seat at the back of E block. Had completly lost hope at that point but when that goal went in I have never been so mental in my life. I was huging random people all over the place. My best mate ended up on the floor but he didn't care!

I've never been to a game with such a mix of emotions beforehand!

It's games and moments like these that make football so special.

I don’t normally leave early, just felt really gutted that day, I honestly couldn’t see us scoring.

By the way C1, give yourself a pat on the back, you're obviously a superfan.

If Mr Earl E. Leaver wants to disappear before the end of the game then that's fine, but please do it without obscuring my view for the last five minutes of every bloody game.

No need for that my friend.
For the record I was resigned to the fact that we were out, I was as gutted as the next bloke, I know how you felt.

after the match i got onto the mill rd bus and 2 dejected soaked swindon fans sat in front. i offered my sympathy to them (as you do). when we stopped at mill rd they inquired if the bus continued to the other p & r. obviously not was the anwser. so they had to return to withdean to catch a double decker. poor sods not only were they soaked, just lost on penalties after being much the better side but then when all they wan't to do was go home they had got on the wrong bus. laugh? i pissed myself:lolol: :lolol:

Block B with Mrs Binary. Was joking with the guys next to us that 'it only takes a second to score a goal' and we did. Went totally mental.

Have always hated Mooney and Gurney (probably down to living in Reading for too long) so when they missed from the spot it I thought that was the icing on the cake.

However, once I got in to see the brief report on SSN, it was superceded by the Andy King interview! The best team lost apparently.:tosser:

I thought we got promoted and they are still mid-table non-entities! :lolol:

Sports Cafe - Haymarket. Was the best atmosphere I'd experienced in a pub since Euro 1996.
I remember Willow standing in the pub filling out his play off final ticket application form within 2 minutes of Swindon missing their second penalty. Class.

When Virgs got the goal, there was this bloke dancing up and down shouting, Yes, Yes, Yes, and everyone was staring at him. So I stopped.
