A similar squad to Tuesday. 1st-year scholar Darius Lane has his first involvement with the U-21s on the bench.

Aside from the long-term injuries to Noel Bigo Atom and Adrian Mazilu there are a number of others who have been missing recently, presumably with injury; RB Charlie Tasker, MF Zane Albarus (who had done a decent job of filling in at RB in Tasker's absence), MF Jamie Mullins and FW Joshua Duffus (although he was pictured in the training gallery on the club website today). 2nd-year scholars Joe Belmont and Layth Gulzar, who I would have expected to have had some involvement recently, haven't been seen since early December. LB Jacob Slater once again fills in at RB.

Slater filled in at CB it seemed on Tuesday. With Simmonds at RB I thought, admittedly, a pint deep!

Fair enough (I obviously didn't see the game myself). Soccerway had us lining up with 3 CBs and Bashir and Mills as wing-backs. To be honest, aside from the initial positions at kick-off, with the fluidity most teams have these days the positions often don't mean very much. More than once recently I've watched an Albion game (admittedly on TV or a stream) and had a different interpretation on the formation to that which has subsequently been reported on the BBC/PL website/soccerway etc.

Actually it could well have been a 5, either way, Slater was on the left and Simmonds on the right.

Unfortunately after registering and creating an account nothing happens when I click on "Buy Video Pass".
Yep, the same happened to me a little while ago (I didn't intend to buy, I just wondered how much the pass was). Given that it was after the game had started, I wonder if it cuts off shortly after kick-off?

Or did he choose to leave, you simply don’t know

In the matchday squad I would suggest that is fairly significant for a young player and proof he was considered ‘good enough’ as he wouldn’t have been there. LoL

If we wanted to really keep him, I am sure we would have. He has gone to Norwich, not a big club or anything.

Good enough to be on the bench and good enough to play are very different. And with the injuries, he was the next man up.

Ultimately, I am like you, sad that he left but I don't think it's a surprise really.

Sad ........ AND a surprise for me. Loan, not a sale, every day of the week, would have been my choice. It is what it is.............
