Brighton To London Trains Completely Screwed

saw a mate who said he had heard a train was going via Lewes to London Bridge, squeezed on to be told 20 minutes later no driver.

I was on that train - it didn't go via Lewes in the end but crawled very slowly up to London Bridge.

I got to work 10 minutes ago. :nono:

I need to be back in Brighton by 6.30pm. Better leave now

No seriously, any news on trains back?!

Weird thing was after all the cancellations and delays, when the 0747 finally left Brighton, the carriage was half empty. Didn't start to fill up until HH.

Really? Carriage 12 was chocka. Mind you a fair few did get out when we were stuck at Preston Park.

I legged it down the platform as soon as they announced it was platform 4. Carriage 2 was empty when I got on.

I was waiting for my usual 09.10 from London Bridge to Farringdon this morning and at 09.20 they announced it was still at Haywards Heath. Must have been a right bugger for all you poor sods :nono:

A mate of mine from Hastings, who normally catches the Charing Cross train, got screwed up doubly this morning. No trains were running to Charing Cross, because South Eastern have decided not to fill the trains' sand boxes this year, meaning one got stuck because of the icy rail conditions. He had to get a Brighton train as far as Eastbourne and then get a Victoria train, and then ran into all the other problems. He got in to work at 10.55, when he is normally in at about 9.25. By contrast, my train from East Grinstead was only 10 minutes late this morning. My journeys have been an absolute nightmare lately. I can only remember about one train being on time in the past week or two.

Some coastway services are now starting to be affected due to misplaced rolling stock, and lack of available train crew.

This is now confirmed as a broken rail in Clayton Tunnel.

Oh dear thats gotta be just about the worst place to have a broken rail!

I hope they've sorted it out by this evening, I'm not going to be happy with 2 nightmare journeys in a day

You should worry! All these delay's are gonna play havoc with my bonus next year.

Thought I would go in early for a change 0623 Portslade, reverse at Preston Park, reverse at Brighton, reverse at Lewes - took about two & a half hours to get to East Croydon, but at least has a seat. First time this year with any real delay.
