I am meant to be in London today. Any ideas of when you will leave Gatwick ?. Shall I just forget it or do you think it is worth driving up to Gatwick and getting a train from there to Victoria. Thanks.

Well the Gatwick Express will be fine as it is not going to get caught in this mess, but you will pay more for the honour of using it.

You didn't do toooo badly there Dave. Make sure you leave work early this evening - you don't want to be late twice in one day !!

(we actually had someone who used that as an excuse for leaving early whenever he was late in)

I hope they've sorted it out by this evening, I'm not going to be happy with 2 nightmare journeys in a day

I didn't even get to Shreham station this morning before I found out the London trains weren't running, so turned around and came home again.

Under normal circumstances I would have done exactly the same thing. Unfortunately I have a new starter that I am training this week so it wasn;t really an option today. Got to the ofice just after 1030 after leaving home at 0630.

Luckily I'm doing a late shift today, left Burgess Hill at about 9:20 and got to London Bridge for about 10:30. Glad I wasn't trying to get a bus southbound, looked manic

I got back an hour ago after going to Lewes via Brighton at 7 ish this morning, all the London trains arrived packed and people were fighting to ram themselves in like Sardines. Was told it was a broken down train and to come back in an hour.

Went back to Brighton at 9, seemed worse, people fighting to get on a Victoria train (via Littlhampton), I gave up and then saw a mate who said he had heard a train was going via Lewes to London Bridge, squeezed on to be told 20 minutes later no driver.

These things seem to have a knock on affect, I've cancelled my days work, try again next week. Good luck to anyone trying to get home tonight.

No longer Branson's franchise.

Don't care, I blame him anyway. Bloody hippy.

Finally got to where I was going near City Thameslink at 11.30, two and three quarter hours after leaving Brighton, and found there was no-one there. They'd awarded themselves a day off.

Will no doubt no face another shocker of a journey home. The entire legal profession now join Beardie on my hate list.

Always funny to see adults dressed up in suits doing that. It happened coming back from london bridge a few weeks ago. The people who had got on first just stood in the doorway part and didn't move down the carriage, but instead of just asking them to move people outside just started panicking and tried to push their way on. Even then they didn't move all the way down so I had to tell someone on the inside to tell everyone else to move down so those outside could get on. It's wierd how common sense seems to desert some people.

It's weird how as soon as someone puts on a suit they think the world owes them a favour. Even worse are those with golfign umbrellas and leather briefcases! Bunch of clueless imbeciles!

Yep - I got in an hour and a half late. Managed to get a seat but some fat munters arse was practically in my face for the entire journey as she stood right by my seat. Very disconcerting.
