Okay I wasn’t clear enough. I should have said recruitment of every position EXCEPT striker has been exceptionally GOOD, BUT the Muzza 2 acquisition failure is what gets me annoyed

Are your really actually annoyed? Disappointed, I get. I'm a bit disappointed. I'm more disappointed that the decent attacking payers in the squad are fluffing their lines a bit, though. And in the great scheme of things, 6 games unbeaten.... it would probably take a 3-0 capitulation to Palace (all OGs) for me to get a bit cross. But I'd feel better in the morning.

How are you on queueing for a half time beer, or waiting to be served in a middle ranking restaurant? Sanguine, or do you make a bit of a fuss? I'm minded of a time I took an ex student of mine (odd bloke, hereditory baronet, extremely conservative) for a coffee in Starbucks once. You know what they're like, right? Give your order to one person, then five minutes later another person is signing his or her name in the cappuccino froth? That sort of caper? Well my companion, unfamiliar with this sort of working class tomfoolery totally lost it, and gave the poor girl his best 'if I ran this shambolic coffee house you'd be out on your ear' rant.

That's you, that is ??? :lolol:

Well, obviously I am happy with our current form but, yes, I am annoyed that we have not plugged the most obvious gap in our squad. A problem that has been apparent for about 2 seasons as Muzza got less and less effective.

I would not be annoyed in the coffee shop and, even if I was, I still wouldn’t moan, let alone rant!

I'm not sure we need to look too far beyond what we have. The decision making in and around the box by Maupay and Connolly could and should improve.

We're not looking for 20 a season but I'm sure one of these has the potential to be picking up 12-15 with the way we are creating chances.

Someone else mentioned it recently, a specialist coach for our front men might be the answer perhaps?

Agreed, the key question is whether we retain Welbeck who, IIRC, only signed a deal until the summer. I suspect that decision will be informed by medical opinion and his injury status above other factors. If he isn't re-signed, we'll need another striker.
Maupay, Connolly and Zeqiri, on the other hand, are all long-term projects who we can expect to improve in all sorts of areas, hopefully including goalscoring. That's what seems to be the plan from a distance.
