Palace have the financial muscle, it all depends how much IH wants him. I see Bannan has signed maybe this signals the end of IH's interest.

Is Bannan any good, don't know much about him but I see Villa kept sticking him out on loan and played him for last couple of years while they were crap.

I thought he said midfielder and got worried. I then wondered why Brid would be flying in seeing as he isn't with Scotland due to his injury

Sorry, I meant midfielder. Crofts is in Wales. Somehow doubt it's him. Definitely not Liam.

Steve Parish is a ridiculous looking bloke.

Palace do NOT have financial muscle. They have money that average players will/are extorting out of them because they and their agents know that no-one of real quality is going to sign for them.

Good player, but got done for drink driving. Lambert froze him out since then.

You are incorrect (factually)
Promotion was a game changer. Take off your blue and white specs

I don't think it is incorrect, they have money compared to championship clubs but not to compete in Prem

Where are these quality players that they/you are signing then?

Financial muscle can only be flexed if you are an attractive club to join - at the moment they/you are just being fleeced by average players who are not good enough for the Premier League. How much money is Holloway pouring down the drain today in a futile attempt to stay up?

The problem palace have is their squad was already weaker than the other promoted sides and their two best players Murray (injured) and Zaha (sold) are not available.

To even complete in that division they would have to spend massively to get their squad up to the required standard and have the depth needed for the tough road ahead.

The problem is the owners also want to (sensibly) bank a large amount of the PL money so they are left trying to put together a semi competitive squad whilst spending the bare minimum in light of their realistic relegation

It is a sensible approach given palaces situation and the need for ground development. So why can't the palace fans on here just call it as it is instead of trying to proclaim signing dogshit like Chamakh and Banner is somehow going to prevent them slipping back into the championship?

Which isn't going to happen, unless you pay over the odds so not sure on your point.

My point is Palace could easily afford LB. As could any Prem club. It seems Bannan has put paid to any interest in LB thou. Like it or not, promotion was worth a minimum of £120m (that's just the Sky money, not all the extra income the prem brings). This gives Prem clubs financial muscle when dealing with Championship clubs (but not other prem clubs).
