Basketmakers for me, purely for the fine selection of ales.

The World's End is one of my locals so I go there a fair bit, it's a bit of a surprise to find such a decent pub on that part of London Road.

Special mention for Northern Lights for having great urinals, you can't go wrong with a little football to aim for.

So to be a pub there must be real ale?

Granted places that do not serve real ale, tend to be a bit chainy, but an odd definition all the same.

Agree with this and I love real ale. As you say, the ones that don't tend to be Yates-esque, but with a decent lager selection, it's all good.

Anyway, along with 90% of people here, Basketmakers.

Basketmakers, proper pub.

Nice to see a Brighton pub keep the same name for as long as I can remember.

The Mitre. Proper no frills boozer that knows how to serve a decent pint and doesn't suffer from transient fashionability thank gawd.
