Unfortunately I'm on a training diet at moment so I can only stare and drool. I personally don't rate any fish and chip shop in Brighton that highly. For proper feed up York has it topped for me followed by St Ives.

Its pretty good but I found the food lacking a bit of taste at The Urchin. Difficult to put my finger on it but the scallops tasted a bit bland and the oysters as well. Maybe my taste buds had been blitzed by the APAs I'd been drinking? Other folk I know have gone and rate it.

Half of the PORTIONS on there - from about number five downwards - barely even count as fish n chips in the non-ponce meaning of the term. These are the plaices that will go to the wall soonest. There but for the brace of cod....
