It is. I was really surprised by Fillets. I went there because I was hungry not expecting anything great but it's right up there with Bardsley's and Banker's

I agree with that by far the best in BH & HH. Is Fillets the one in Lewes Rd going from The Level to Elm Grove near the Labour club that is very good far better than Bardsleys in Baker St.

It's not a fish & chip shop.
I've had some good meals there but it's French cuisine served there, although fish is one of the menu options.

One thing I've learnt on my travels is you're never too far from some Brit ex-pat serving up traditional fish and chips

The owner was a Greek guy; family friend and Albion mad. I remember we had a £5 bet on Albion at home to Mansfield. He insisted we would lose and I wasn't having that. We won 3-1 but the tight git wouldn't pay up. So I nicked it out of the till and he never noticed. Suffice to say, a fiver every now and then went missing as he told me most of the transactions weren't rung through. And he only paid me £2.50 a week.
