I don’t understand why we keep trying to run the ball. Surely this system should be about short 1 touch passes.

All I see is our midfield constantly trying to turn their man and run past them.

Would be interested to see if the ‘drivble with ball’ stats match my opinion. Would assume the ‘runs with ball and loses ball’ stat almost identically matches it…
That’s the attacking side.

Every decent team is also built on defence. Clearly Pep/Slot/Arteta obsess over that too.

We’re a defensive shambles in every way. 100% not suited to our defenders.

FH will have to adapt majorly for this season.

If everyone on NSC can see that we need to review defensive strategy, why can't our coach?

Plan B required.
We're getting beating shitless in Midfield . . That's more of a priority . . . We have 2 children in the middle presently with all the learned wisdom of Katy price.

(no offence lads, but you're getting schooled at the moment . .Bissoumas on the bench FFS!)

It’s early in Fab’s reign.
Exactly. Against two big teams bang in form. I don't want a sulky De Zerbi or that tedious fake/prat Potter. We've made some good signings. We'll get better as the season goes on. Surprised how blood naïve and weak Hurzelar has look these past few weeks. Not beating Forest and the tactics V Chelsea was really bad.

As much as we’ve been bad, let’s not forget there is more than one team on that pitch and Spurs have played really well.

No one picked up Maddison for their 2nd. Dunk had a look but was otherwise occupied. All too easy for Spurs atm.
Pretty sure we decided not to mark him, based on the number of free runs he had from the half way line to our area, that half....

I don't understand how the team that was so great in the first couple of games now look so bad.
Yeah

This is my take on it at half time (others may see different ) :

We were a team used to playing out from the back and inviting the high press in possession - but everyone (justifiably) complained about us flaffing around at the back too much - death by a thousand passes but heh, 65-70% possession - we played beautiful flowing football. Then we stopped scoring goals because we lost our decent midfield and the service we needed for our strikers which impacted on our ability to finish. So our 75% possession and beautiful flowing football all started to look somewhat farcical.

FH has turned that on its head - it’s all about attack and progressing the ball more vertically - more direct play. High defence line.

Not good, bereft of ideas and confidence.

Baleba, Rutter and Kadioglu positives but time for some awkward conversations about Dunk and Veltman.

For the second half I’d be tempted to bring Wieffer on for Veltman and drop Hinshelwood back to right back. Let’s hope to see a bit of Gruda and maybe some inspiration from him.
Dunk has been ok imo. Ferdy has been exposed but partly because Kulesevski is not being picked up. Baleba and Mitoma the bright spots going forward. Minteh is awful, really awful.
