Taller keeper might have got a hand to it , not sure would have kept it out , powerful header , longer fingertips wasn’t keeping that out

The defending though is still suspect at set pieces

I am going to assume the people saying Ryan should save that are either determined to blame him for every goal concede irrespective of the actual goal or are at the game and have maybe only seen it once or twice.

Watching the replay at halftime there is no way he saves that and nor does a ‘taller keeper’.

His hand is in an unnatural position and moves, unintentionally, towards the ball. That's always been a penalty. Well when I say always, from when I can remember which is about 50 years.

yes but he just said he didnt think it was deliberate this is why they changed the rule so that there is no debate over it being deliberate under the old rules a referee might have deemed it accidental and no pen

Bloody typical Brighton- could see their goal coming a mile off after a few let’s offs. We need to be careful dikking about at the back, a couple of times they have nearly stolen it. Some of the positioning for our defending when they shift it has been questionable

a galaxy far far away
Given our inability to prevent goals from set pieces and keepers limitations, men on the post to me would be worth a try

Connolly is doing better than most are suggesting, but yeh he did totally balls up one attacking opportunity.

Bissouma again our best player

lets hope the goal gives southampton a false sense they can win the match and press forward more leaving it open for us to catch them on the break. i think i would rather us risk losing the match going for the win than trying to hold on for a point.

Following on...am I allowed to say ....WTF is this crap about defenders playing in midfield...what message does that send to our midfielders like alzate or trossard.....ok I may be a bit premature, but I think we are not as good as we think we are!

Can we just have one player actually block their most dangerous player when we concede a free kick. He started the run a long way out and surely we have someone physical enough to stop the run. It's simple, but once the block has been missed, blaming anyone else is pointless on what was an excellent corner and header.

We really need to be a bit more cynical and a little less naive. Other than that, good half :albion2:

I'll let you have 13 yards
Sometimes goals are well taken and nobody's fault
