How much is this game costing the club? And victory means another game to be played. Officially don't the away team get a cut of the gate money, do Pompey have to stump up a percentage of the losses?
It's on Sky so money from them but what about the games last night not on the tele box? Can't have made a profit.

They get 45% of the gate split, so 45% of zero is I think zero.

Reading an article on line from the crappy Mirror indicates the money or 'lack' of it from the Carabao Cup :

Here's how it works...

An EFL spokesperson informed Mirror Sport that there is zero prize money up until the semi-final stage of the competition.
The two teams that exit the competition in the semis will receive £25,000.

As for the finalists, £50,000 goes to the runner up while the winner pockets £100,000.

While this initially may not seem a lot, these figures don't include the money generated from gate receipts.

Unlike league matches, the total sum earned at a Carabao Cup match via gate receipts is split 45 per cent each way, regardless of where the game is played.

Not hard to understand why so many clubs take this competition so lightly.

That it is a pitiful sum and reflects just how hard up the football league is generally.

And the reward for victory tonight - a trip to PRESTON.

If that doesn't get the players going tonight, then frankly I don't know what will.
