I don’t understand why we are playing teams below us............... I’m a Premiership Soccer fan and The Super Cup cuts no parsnips with me.

It'll be Steele I suspect. Imagine being him if Sanchez got picked ahead of him?

And the reward for victory tonight - a trip to PRESTON.

If that doesn't get the players going tonight, then frankly I don't know what will.

The way Preston is going they will all need to self isolate for a few few weeks if we end up playing them

Was out with a mate of mine this morning - former matchday PC at the Goldstone - he hates Pompey as well, always the worst game to police he reckoned.

Perhaps a chance of 1st team football might just make them hungry.

Just signed up for a NOWTV months sport pass. Tonight and Sunday sorted but the bloody Man U match is BT. Not sure I've done the right thing if next months matches are BT prime or BBC as I can not watch any football thas does not include Brighton (or England).

I am looking forward to it for several reasons

1. Gives some of the fringe players a run out in front of the TV cameras
2. If we take it seriously it's a bit of silverware we realistically might win
3. I purchased a month of Sky sports and want my monies worth

But a question does winning this cup give entry to one of the European cup comes next year as if it does that will be worth far more than gate receipts were not getting this year

This bit is the honey pot
The winners of the UECL qualify for the following season's Europa League.

So
1 Win Carabao Cup:
Entry to Uefa Europa Conference League.
2 Win Uefa Europa Conference League
Entry to Europa league

A trophy well worth putting in the best players TBH

Yes, the club will qualify for the new "third tier" UEFA competition, the Europa Conference League.

From what I saw on the forum earlier this day the matchday income losses should be around £19m (if I understood correctly) and the new Europa competition wont be able to cover that. In fact even the Europa League is fairly small money to a PL club - sure, if you win the tournament and basically all group stage games plus a if a lot of teams decide to broadcast the games, you can earn about £30-35m from winning the EL (prize money + tv money).

The prize money etc for the new third tier Europa league are not revealed yet, but if I would have a guess winning it would realistically maybe earn you half of that - £15m or so. Qualifying for it would probably earn a team no more than £1m.

I reckon that strikers and possibly keepers apart that we have a pretty good PL squad. If GP goes with a mostly first team squad we should blow these Level 3 chumps away, even if fhey play their strongest team and we rest our best players.

There I’ve said it, don’t disappoint me Albion

I wonder if the bell-end with the bell will rock up in the Bennets Field car park? If he does he’ll need a bloomin big stack of crates in the back of his pickup to see over the Amex!
